Episode 53-2023 – The Healing of The Lame Man

12/31/2023
Mankind, over the centuries, anticipates that when a new year comes it will bring a change to their lives. The story of the healing of the lame man is a story about a man who also anticipated a change in his life, John 5:1-15. We are not told in scripture what brought Jesus to the Pool of Bethesda, but as God, He knew there were people there who were sick and diseased. They were waiting for a miracle in their lives, for a change to come. Whatever your experience was in this year, Jesus sees and knows it. He can make a change in your life. Reverend Dianne Lewis is the Pastor of the Mike Town and Sweden Missionary Churches in Jamaica.

Good morning and Merry Christmas to you all. Today we reflect on Matthew 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins". As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, we are reminded by the Christmas story that when the angel spoke to Joseph he told him "You must call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins". Today, in our festive season, you can receive abundant life because He came to save us from our sins. Are you willing to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour? Episode 51-2023 – Jesus to The Church at Philadelphia

12/17/2023
Welcome back to our study on the churches in Revelation. As we continue, we are still listening to what the Spirit has to say as these messages are also for us even though they were written to the churches back then. Today we look at the church of Philadelphia, Revelation 3:7-13. The church of Philadelphia was the youngest of the seven churches and was located in a center of Greek civilization. Jesus, in describing Himself to the church as holy is reminding them and us of what manner of people we ought to be. How do we measure ourselves as a church? Do we measure ourselves by whether or not we are living by God's Word? Reverend Dianne Lewis is the Pastor of the Mike Town and Sweden Missionary Churches in Jamaica.

Episode 50-2023 – Jesus to The Church at Sardis

12/10/2023
We continue our reflections on the churches in the Book of Revelation. We are still listening to what the Spirit has to say to the churches for these messages are also for us even though they were written to the churches back then. Today we look at the congregation of Sardis. Our reference is Revelation 3:1-6. Ancient Sardis was a very important city. It was a center for trade and also a military center because of its strategic location. However, at this time, the church, like the city, was but a shadow of its former splendour, alive in name only. The message to Sardis is a warning to all churches. What drives us as a church? As a congregation? Are we dead or alive? Reverend Dianne Lewis is the Pastor of the Mike Town and Sweden Missionary Churches in Jamaica.

12/3/2023
As we continue our reflections on Jesus in the Book of Revelation, today we look at the congregation of Thyatira. Our reference is Revelation 2:18-29. Thyatira was the smallest of the seven cities. So the longest letter to the seven churches was written to the church in the smallest city. We see our Saviour using His title that emphasizes His deity. When false teachers come to deny the deity of our Lord and Saviour, let us take a firm stand in the belief of who our Lord is. We too should be recognised by God for our service and our love.

This month, we looked at some of the parables Jesus used in His ministry and the key lessons we can learn from them in these times. As we close, today we examine the "Parable of The Weeds". Many today may be asking the question "Why is there evil in the world?" While we may have answers from different vantage points, we often look to the Bible to try and answer this question. The Bible does not say why evil exists, but it does offer the solace that one day it will be defeated.
