He also talks about his grandfather protesting following WW1 in Washington D.C. as part of the Bonus Expedition Forces (BEF) and how the President and government at that time turned against the crowds of veterans who protested. EP-350 | Healing From War Part II

11/3/2023
This is part two on the topic of healing from the trauma of war. The previous episode is 349. If you haven't listened to that one first, it would probably help to start there. Welcome back to a new episode of Mentors4mil. We're happy that you're here. On this episode, Phil and Jared discuss several topics and answer your questions regarding the use of Psychedelics to help with post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries. Jared Rinehart is a former U.S. Marine as an infantryman from 2006 to 2011, and separated as a sergeant. In 2013, he became a contractor and protected a base in the southern province of Afghanistan where he saw a lot combat. Phil Sussman is a former U.S. Army cavalry and civil affairs officer who saw the trauma of war from his three deployments and he spent a total of 10 years in service. Both share their own personal experiences, the challenges of using psychedelics as part of the healing process and having to face their demons, how the process shouldn't be taken lightly, and how it's helped them in their healing journey. It's not the destination, it's part of the journey. The FDA designated MDMA and psilocybin as "breakthrough therapies" in 2017, which expedites the study and development of drugs that "may demonstrate substantial improvement over available therapy." The Veteran Affairs continues to research opportunities to aid in those struggling with PTSD. Please see our show disclaimer regarding this content. This episode and the second part are meant to share personal stories of two individuals and to describe/share treatments our veterans are seeking as part of their healing process. _______________ Please leave us a review on Apple/Spotify Podcasts: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mentors-for-military-podcast/id1072421783 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3w4RiZBxBS8EDy6cuOlbUl #traumaofwar #ptsd #Ayahuasca #mentors4mil #mentorsformilitary Mentors4mil Links: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Mentors4mil Patreon Support: https://www.patreon.com/join/Mentors4mil Intro music "Long Way Down" by Silence & Light is used with permission. EP-344 | 75th Ranger Regiment Low Density MOS'

8/15/2023
Within 75th Ranger Regiment there are many military occupational skills that are supporting roles known as "low density". Although many are within the Regimental Special Troops Battalion (RSTB) at Fort Moore (aka Ft. Benning), there are also opportunities to join units within each battalion. We sat down with six non-commissioned officers in the Darby Room of the 75th Ranger Regiment HQ. RSTB provides the 75th Ranger Regiment and U.S. Army Special Operations Command with increased operational capabilities to sustained combat operations. RSTB conducts command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions in support of the 75th Ranger Regiment and other special operation task forces in order to enable the execution of joint special operations anywhere in the world. Additionally, RSTB provides qualified, trained and ready Rangers to sustain the Ranger Force. The 75th Ranger Regiment is a lethal, agile and flexible force, capable of conducting many complex, joint special operations missions. Today's Ranger regiment is the Army's premier direct-action raid force. Each of the four geographically dispersed Ranger battalions is always combat ready, mentally and physically tough, and prepared to fight our country's adversaries. Their capabilities include conducting airborne and air assault operations, seizing key terrain such as airfields, destroying strategic facilities, and capturing or killing enemies of the nation. Rangers are capable of conducting squad through regimental-size operations and are resourced to maintain exceptional proficiency, experience and readiness. The regiment remains an all-volunteer force with an intensive screening and selection process followed by combat-focused training. The 75th Ranger Regiment is a proud unit and a team of teams - serving the nation.
