What does this card mean? (6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Swords)

9/14/2017
More
Sharon is back (from Hurricane Irma)! After a bit of catching up chit-chat, we took a deep look at the 6 and 7 of swords, and the various ways they can come up in a reading. This is a fresh take on tarot card meanings—not your typical "here's what you have to memorize" garbage presented in too many books and websites. We continued on with the 8, 9, and 10 of swords, comparing them against each other and along the way revealing some great information every reader should know. If you have any...

New tarot game! Astrology spread and the tarot cards exercise

9/12/2017
More
We had so much fun with this new game! It's a variation of cards in position on the roundabout spread. We rolled a 12 sided die or 2 6 sided dice to determine the card position then pulled a random card. After that, we either used the astrological position or the actual card position meaning to determine the meaning of the card. It sounds complicated, but it's really very easy if you've been doing your homework! Mandy, Sharon and I played it together to get you started and see how it's done....

Mandy is back! She was on holiday in Greece when a 6.7 earthquake struck. we talked about earthquakes and Mandy’s dialogue with the cards. This is a long lesson! Mandy also recounted her encounter with a believer in a flat earth. We discussed and analyzed the theory and its impact on Mandy’s way of thinking. I went over the suit of Coins. Unlike the suit of Wands, there is no synchronistic story with the Coins. The numerological analysis between the two suits also breaks down when examined...

Tarot suit of Wands: 6-10 plus professional advice on reading cards.

7/12/2017
More
So . . . lots of stuff today. Mandy and I sat down and talked for a few minutes about her evolution as a tarot reader (real life proof over the past several months—and how you can do this too). Then we got into the suit of Wands (cards 6 through 10) but we looked at what these cards COULD mean in a philosophical sense. There is no one book of card meanings, and if there were it would have to be thousands of pages thick, as there is simply no way to assign fixed set meanings you can...

Listen to this episode to learn what your tarot cards mean. Mandy and I are doing a new series of tarot card interpretations without formula, memorization, or bad storytelling. Originally we were going to try to get through the entire suit of Wands but it turns out that we can only get though five cards at a time while showing you professional techniques of card interpretation. So it looks like this series will go on for a while. In this episode we looked at the Ace, two, three, four, and...

Mandy's first corporate event! (using tarot for more than just readings)

6/21/2017
More
Yesterday Mandy was paid to use her tarot skills in a "team building event" by a wellness center in her area. The full details are included in the audio lesson but the gist of it is that Mandy was hire to use the tarot to entertain and motivate employees to work together more efficiently. Mandy describes how she was originally going to take the (traditional) easy route and just give everyone there readings, but as she did her research she had an epiphany to make the whole experience...

Mandy’s stall update! Last week we explored Mandy’s giant step from reading on the psychic phone lines to opening up her own retail location. After doing due diligence and solid business research Mandy chose to set up shop one day a week (to start) at a busy marketplace. This lowered her star-up expenses and recurring overhead while putting her front and center in front thousands of real potential clients every week. It also let her keep her day job. Only you can decide which path is best...

5/31/2017
More
If you EVER want to make money reading for clients (face to face) you need to listen to this (**free**) lesson on how to make it work for you. Mandy and I sat down and revealed what we have been working on for the past few months. Mandy is one of my hand-taught students and I personally supervise her instruction and progress (she is in the UK and I am in California). First we built her success and popularity on the psychic phone lines and then she felt the need to expand into in-person...

New fun tarot game ("Blind Date") makes learning card meanings easy

5/17/2017
More
Tarot card meanings are not a mystery, they just haven't been taught properly. This is why so many people struggle with what a card means in a tarot reading. That all ends here. Today's goofy lesson is all about how to know what your cards mean when they come up in practice or an actual spread you are casting for a paying client. To actually understand what your cards are saying to you requires a familiarity with your tarot cards. Each card in your deck has an image on it and inside that...

Reading without Bias

5/11/2017
More
Mandy, Sharon and I we sitting around talking about our most unusual possessions, so we decided to share them with you! That brought us to talking about judging other people and of course about reading without judgement. We talked about when to say no and when to take on the responsibility of accepting a client without letting bias enter the equation. It is extremely important that when you read, you deliver the message you receive in the reading and not your own personal opinion. One way...

Problem clients (Podcast with Mandy)

5/11/2017
More
This episode runs really long (almost 90 minutes). It was a casual discussion between one of my private students (Mandy) and myself about the real-world experiences we all face in reading tarot for other people. Occasionally we all get a difficult client. Most people you read for have a good time and you two end up enjoying a conversation with value exchanged on both sides, but every once in a while you will not make a connection with someone. You can't read for them (for various reasons),...

4/15/2017

One of the biggest problems that new and experienced readers face is their conscious mind interfering with a reading. This is what happens when you're trying to read and your brain nags at you "No! That can't be right!" or "are you sure?" This voice cane be loud or so subtle that you never directly hear it, but feel the foolish need to rely on keywords or memorized meanings (note: NEVER read out of the book). This audio lesson builds on the lesson of the Fool and the Yappy Dog. Mandy,...

Today's episode was so much fun! Mandy had a great funny story about a client that had us in stitches. Then Sharon told us an observation that a client made about the Ace of Cups from The Modern Spellcaster's Tarot Deck. We all chimed in with awkward or funny moments from our Tarot past to entertain Iris and prepare her and you for what's in store. Not only did we laugh a lot, but we talked about a great many subjects. Things like what to do when a client tries to "test" your psychic...

Fun new tarot exercise! (makes cards EASY to understand)

3/16/2017
More
So we started out today talking about tarot books. Sharon wanted to bring up something important but of course we got sidetracked . . . AND INVENTED A NEW GAME! :-) Or an exercise. It has a kind of lame name: "Interview." We really need to work on that name, but it is an exercise that feels like a game and it is *awesome*!! We hope you will agree. Rather than explain how it works here, just download this and listen along. Apologies in advance to ANYONE who might be offended, as we never...

Which tarot deck works the best?

Whether you are just starting to learn the Tarot or have been reading the cards for years, this episode addresses a valid question. Which Tarot works the best? Iris, Sharon and I discussed how they got their first decks, which decks they were, and how they interacted with them. This is a classic example in both cases of how the deck can enhance or inhibit your learning process. We talked about how the art of different decks can impact your interpretations, whether for ill or good. The...

2/27/2017

We've all been there, with our very first tarot deck in our hands and an excitement to start reading. And nothing but a little white book to tell us what to do. Mainly those books just give keywords and descriptions of the card while we stand there scratching our heads going "huh?" Sharon and I pretended to be our sixteen year old selves way back in the old days trying to figure this stuff out. Aside from being just plain fun, we talked about ways for the new students to start to know...

This podcast is a great blend of Tarot and astrology even if you know little about astrology. We show how with just a basic understanding of astrological signs, you can get even more depth and meaning from the cards! We determined the "Sun signs" of several different Tarot cards by examining the art and the information of each. We also talked about how those astrological properties...
