Mel Lipton plays straight ahead Jazz at its simplest and purest form, be it small combos, big bands or vocalists. He says he prefers acoustic instrumentation but never rules anything out. Mel's philosophy on the music is simple: "The music is intended for the audience. It must be lyrical, subtle and melodic with the proper intensity to reflect a mood. I believe to enjoy jazz you don't have to be an expert. I leave that to the Musicians. All you have to do is listen, enjoy and tap your foot."
