The British author Terry Pratchett has died at the age of 66 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. As the illness took hold, eventually robbing him of the ability to read, Pratchett lobbied for more funding into dementia research, and for the right to die, saying he wanted to pass away in comfort, listening to music with a glass of brandy in his hand.
