591 - 10/22/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Gaming Bar Shuts Down, Games As A Service

11/4/2017
More
I apologize for this episode being so late - I was out of town, then had spotty internet. There was no episode on October 29th. A gaming bar in Atlanta, Battle & Brew, is closing its doors on November 5th. EA has closed Visceral Games, who was making an Uncharted-style Star Wars game, which is now being retooled because the market wants Games as a Service, like Destiny. Then we take calls about some VR games coming out, as well as Jackbox Party Pack 4.

590 - 10/15/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Oculus Connect, Madden Accessibility Updates

10/22/2017
More
I finally hooked up all my consoles, and sadly one of them didn't survive the move. Oculus Connect was this past week, and we learned about the standalone Oculus Go headset, the Santa Cruz prototype, and the updates to the current Rift software suite. There was a big Madden NFL 18 update that gave a lot of accessibility features for the blind community, and it was really well thought out. Then we take a call about the Madden update.

589 - 10/08/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - SIEGE 2017 Recap, Microsoft Buys AltspaceVR

10/15/2017
More
I attended the Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo, tried some locally produced indie games like Twincop and SiNKR, and had some interesting conversations about why you must be negative to be entertaining while streaming or doing podcasts. Microsoft has been revealed to be the benefactor for AltspaceVR keeping it in business. Then we take calls about Amazon Prime not taking care of SNES Classic preorders.

588 - 10/01/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - SNES Classic Impressions, Wii Shop Channel Closing

10/9/2017
More
I was able to get a SNES Classic - some scalpers in my line were worried about the seemingly overwhelming supply at my location. Golf Story on the Switch is surprisingly good, but I've only played it for an hour or so. The Metronomicon, a game I covered on the VOG Network YouTube channel, had a Steam Sale and I picked it up. Pinball FX3 is out, but not all tables from previous versions were carried over - unfortunately Pinball FX2 was delisted on Steam at the same time, so you can no...

587 - 09/24/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Steam User Review Graphs, PUBG vs. Fortnite

10/2/2017
More
Flappy Bird is gone, but is Flappy VOG still playable? Turns out, mostly...no. I've played more of Miitopia on the 3DS and it really is a decent RPG-Lite. Don't expect anything too deep but still fun to play while trying to get to sleep. Steam has added graphs to user reviews to show when something is being review bombed, giving the consumer more accurate information about a title. Playerunknown's Battlegrounds developer Bluehole is objecting to Epic Games' similar title Fortnite: Battle...

586 - 09/17/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Miiverse Preservation Project, Classic Edition Supply

9/19/2017
More
While I don't really talk about the Nintendo Direct, I do talk a little bit about the Project Octopath Traveler demo on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo may be shutting down their social network, but a former listener is hoping to archive all of Miiverse before it goes away. Nintendo also claims to be putting out more units of the SNES Classic as well as bringing back the NES Classic in 2018. Then we take calls about the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta, Rigs, and Fantasy Strike.

9/11/2017
More
I'm back from Dragon Con and I'm inspired and looking forward to the year ahead. We have a followup from a previous call about if Nintendo has any competition this holiday season, and a commenter says that Sony is a worthy challenger. At Dragon Con, I sat in on a panel by Al Lowe, creator of Leisure Suit Larry, and he talked about his time at Sierra On-Line before the company was stolen from Ken Williams. I discuss that I might want to do more Twitch streaming and be more of a positive...

584 - 08/27/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - HTC Possibly Selling Vive Division, Darkwood Piracy

8/30/2017
More
I'm going to be at Dragon Con all week, come say hi, or just follow along on the VOG Network Discord! HTC might be looking to sell its Vive division, because it's the only part of their business worth anything right now. The developers of Darkwood, a game recently out of Early Access, put their game up on The Pirate Bay rather than give free keys to people who would just sell them on key-reselling sites. Then we take calls and chat comments about Pokken Tournament DX and what Nintendo can...

583 - 08/20/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - PlayStation Network Social Media Hacked, One-Handed JoyCons

8/25/2017
More
The Total Solar Eclipse was the day after the recording of this episode, so there was several minutes of excitement. I'll be on SIX panels at Dragon Con (only five at the time of recording) so come say hi! The Xbox One X preorders went on sale, and sold out like they were classic Nintendo systems. The PlayStation Network Social Media accounts were hacked, but it doesn't necessarily mean the actual gaming network was. AltspaceVR is back! They never really shut down... A one-handed JoyCon...

582 - 08/13/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Xbox One Creators Collection, Fig Actually Works

8/16/2017
More
I'm speaking on four panels at Dragon Con in Atlanta over Labor Day Weekend - come say hi! Microsoft has launched the Creators Collection, an unfiltered and uncurated section of indie games reminiscent of Xbox Live Indie Games. Crowdfunding platform Fig, which allows you to invest rather than just donated, just had its first success with Kingdoms and Castles. Random tangents from chat include lightning striking your house, Artemis Bridge Simulator vs. Star Trek: Bridge Crew, and Spooky...

I've moved! Take some advice - don't be a packrat. Sombrero Mario is missing from the cover of Super Mario Odyssey. Nintendo claims that preorders for the SNES Classic will be available later this month. Rock Band Blitz is being delisted from digital stores later this month. We talk a little bit about the Ready Player One teaser from a few weeks ago. Then we take calls about monitors, the Splatoon 2 Splatfest that went right, and Sombrero Mario's reaction within Mexican culture.

580 - 07/30/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - AltspaceVR Shutting Down, SNES Classic Preorders Cancelled

7/31/2017
More
Sorry for missing the show last week - I was playing Real Life Splatoon at my new office/studio. Walmart put up preorders for the SNES Classic and then cancelled all of them because of a "technical glitch." I was able to get a NES Classic thanks to the Amazon Treasure Truck, though! AltspaceVR is suddenly shutting down due to lack of funding. Is it possible that a patent troll is to blame as well? Then we take calls about gaming memorabilia, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Disney XD covering...

7/24/2017
More
Sorry about not getting the podcasts up - I just closed on a new house! And there might be some relevant buildouts happening in the basement... I picked up Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age anyway, and love it. The Oculus Rift's price has been permanently dropped, which either means that the cost of production has gone down or they're scared about their third place status in sales. Then we take calls about Forza, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, PlayStation VR modding, and the upcoming Tron ride at...

Summer Games Done Quick just completed, and they raised a lot of money for Doctors Without Borders...How can I be a host and read donations? Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is coming out this week! PlayStation Now is adding PS4 games to the service. ZeniMax is being sued by a musician who disagreed with how his music was used in an ad campaign almost two years ago. Then we take calls about which Final Fantasy might be the best one for someone to jump into the series.

We've posted up some videos from the MomoCon Indie Game Showcase! I visited iSimu VR in Duluth, GA, and talk about how VR Arcades are a great way to try high end VR without investing a ton of money for it. The SNES Classic has been announced, but will you actually be able to get one? I played the Miitopia demo on 3DS, and talk about how it's a simple RPG with a really interesting gimmick. My favorite party game on the Gamecube, Pac Man Vs, is coming to the Switch! VOG now has a Public...

576 - 06/25/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - E3 Going Public Aftermath

7/1/2017
More
E3 went public for the first time this year, and now that it's over, some people have shared their experiences as a first-timer and a consumer. It's obvious that E3 NEEDS to become more consumer focused to survive, so instead of fighting it, we discuss the ways it can do that better - even if it means shutting people like VOG out. Then we take calls about liquid cooling PC's (due to a recent personal experience) and E3.

575 - 06/18/17 Bobby Blackwolf Show - E3 2017 Wrapup

6/24/2017

E3 2017 is now behind us, and we talk about some of the things mentioned in the show, from new VR titles to how E3 handled being open to the public for the first time ever (no matter what urban legend you believe about it being open to the public before!) We also talk about some of the controversy regarding console crossplay for Minecraft and Rocket League, and why Sony may not be playing ball. Then we wish Orange Lounge Radio a very happy 15th anniversary because LOL THEY'RE OLD.

The Atlanta Virtual Reality Meetup is going to iSimu VR in a few weeks. I got the HTC Vive Deluxe Audio Strap, and it greatly improves the experience. 6/14/2017
More
I got to try Star Trek: Bridge Crew with the HTC Vive, and as an Artemis player, I have to say...they got it right. The world's first virtual MMO - Habitat on the Commodore 64 - has been revived thanks to The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment in Oakland, and it brought back many memories of a glorious one month of my childhood before I was grounded for costing my parents too much money. Then we take calls about Star Trek: Bridge Crew and the new Steam Direct pricing. This episode...
