Playin' Games by Devo Spice

I heard the song "Plain Jane" by A$AP Ferg NSFW song a few times on Hip Hop Nation but didn't think much of it, and usually turned it off when it got to the bridge because my kids were in the car. Then one day the DJ announced it by saying it had been certified platinum, so I let it play all the way through, paid close attention to it, and immediately thought of this parody. This is a song about those people who play video games on YouTube and somehow get millions of people to watch them...

Oy, What A World by Steve Goodie

You say you want a really stupid song? I mean, REALLY stoooooopid? I got ya covered. Here's a moronic little number that I wrote over 30 years ago, in HIGH SCHOOL for the love of Pete, and which I forgot about until today when I realized I have to post a song and I have NOTHING. Fun fact... this was never written down. I freaking REMEMBERED it today. Many thanks to my co-writer Andy Hirsch, and to Jim Aycock for tightening up the old underwear and hitting the high notes at the end. Music:...

The Lost Art of Not Kicking People in the Face by Holy Bongwater

1/30/2018
More
Last month, the frontman of the band Queens of the Stone Age had a quite embarrassing incident where, in a typical "shakes fists at millennials" fashion, decided to kick a camera out of the hands of a girl in the front row. Except, well, he kicked the camera right into her face and she spent the rest of the night in the ER. So this is a parody of Queens of the Stone Age's "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" immortalizing his dickishness into song. Jace McLain: vocals Julia Larson: guitars,...

Wow! It's 2018! We survived the big Billy Joel year*, just like we survived Y2K and Orwell's 1984. Excellent. Well, sort of excellent. We still have a climate-change-denying amateur golfer running our esteemed oligarchy. So that's... excellent. This is the title track to my new CD, which you can and should order here. My Job Gave Me a Poncho by Worm Quartet

12/29/2017

Not quite a true story, but based on two true stories - I combined the conditions at a former job with a gift I received at my current job and the result was this mess. I've received several company-branded items over the years - coffee mugs, water bottles, towels, yoga mats, calculators, Rubik's cubes, condoms, bouillon, turnips, etc., but the one that raised my eyebrows the most was most definitely...well, I don't want to give it away for those of you who haven't read the title. Let's...

The fifth anniversary of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School was last week. Sigh... it keeps happening, and we keep doing nothing. Why?
