Completing his undergraduate studies, Michael Canet attended law school at the Catholic University of America, earning a spot on the Legal Honor Society. He then earned his LLM in taxation from the University of Baltimore. As a Wilson Scholar, Michael made the Who’s Who of American University Students list. As founding member of Prostatis Financial Advisors Group, Michael has built his business and reputation on the stability he provides for his clients for over 20 years, establishing four offices covering Baltimore, Washington, Northern Virginia, and Florida. His retirement and estate planning carefully allocates clients’ assets, enabling them to retire with the confidence, income and tax-deferred wealth protection they need to create the quality of life they deserve. Using his experience as an estate-planning attorney, Michael spends meticulous hours planning family legacies. His ability to bring clarity to a difficult process provides his clients peace of mind knowing their families will be protected in the future. In 2011, the governor appointed Michael to the State Board of Individual Tax Preparers as a state regulator. He currently sits on the Board of Vino Scholastico, a fundraising division of the Scholarship Foundation at Howard Community College. Married for 26 years, Michael is the father of two sons, one in his third year of college.
