This week we have special guest Travis Childers, board member of SC Personhood, joining us to discuss the current status of the SC Personhood Bill S217, and some things we can be doing to help get the bill to the forefront of the South Carolina Senate.
Currently, South Carolina is faced with 2 pieces of legislation aiming at abortion. One bill (Personhood) works from an immediatist perspective while the other bill (Dismemberment) works from an incremental perspective. There are many questions to be asked about these bills, as well as about the groups supporting them. And that's what we are hoping to address today in the latest TrueDisciples episode titled "A Tale of Two Bills".
What is incrementalism? What is immediatism? How do these things play a role in the fight against abortion? Why is the South Carolina Citizens for Life group telling us that we are fighting on the side of Planned Parenthood by rejecting the dismemberment bill and supporting the Personhood SC S217 bill? These questions, and more, we discuss on this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Now or Never: Immediatism vs Incrementalism in the Fight Against Abortion".
Why is it important as a Christian to be involved in the civic arena? Dr. Kevin Baird answers this question in the second episode of the TrueDisciples Worldview Moment titled, "Why Be Involved in the Civic Arena".
Is religious liberty in America in danger? What does religious liberty look like? Would Jesus really bake the cake? These questions, and more, we discuss on this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Religious Liberty: Would Jesus Bake the Cake?"
Does Jesus talk about self-defense? Is there a difference between self-defense and vengeance? Do we have a duty to protect our families and others? What about Guns? Dose Jesus support me owning and using a gun for protection? These questions, and more, we discuss on this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Sell Your Cloak and Get a Gun".
What is good? What is evil? Are people inherently good? Are people inherently evil? What does the Bible say about all of this? These questions and more we will tackle in this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People?"
How do you approach the Bible? Is it just a collection of inspirational sayings? Is it an informational book about morals and ethics? Dr. Kevin Baird answers these questions and more on this first ever, TrueDisciples Worldview Moment titled "The Blueprint".
What does it mean to have a worldview? What does it mean to have a biblical worldview? Are worldview's important? What has happened to the worldview of many in America? Can we correct the course we are on? These questions, and more, we discuss in this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Worldview: Adjusting Your Lenses".
Why is reformation needed? What does it mean to be a "comprehensive Christian"? Are there any areas that God doesn't have jurisdiction? Is civil government the only type of government there is? Does God judge nations and individuals? These questions, and more, we discuss on this episode of the TrueDisciples Podcast titled "Why Cultural Reformation"?
What are tongues? Is there more than one kind of tongue in the Bible? What purpose do tongues serve? Does salvation depend on speaking in tongues? Can tongues be taught? These questions and more Dr. Kevin Baird and Pastor Brad Bates discuss on this episode of The TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Is This Fire Really Strange? Speaking in Tongues (Part 2)".

Do Prophets still exist? If so, what role do they serve for the church? Aren't they just predictors of the future who spoke judgment and doom over nations and kings? How might they be important in the discussion of reformation for today? These things and more Dr. Kevin Baird and Pastor Brad Bates discuss on this episode of The TrueDisciples Podcast titled, "Forgotten Offices: What Does it Profit to Neglect the Prophets?"
Sometimes reformation begins with restoration which is ultimately birthed out of revival. In this case, there needs to be a revival of the true 5-fold ministry which embraces all of the offices Jesus himself left for the church which includes not only pastors, teachers, and evangelist...but also the forgotten offices of apostle and prophet...which as scripture states were the foundational offices that Jesus built the church upon. In other words, we need to revive the 5-fold ministry by...
