Dr. Stone & Pastor Wolvin discuss both the good and bad points of making a music director the very first staff member you hire. Many pastors believe the music duties can be absorbed by church members as efficiently as a staff member.
This week's topics have much to do with "thinking outside of the box." Is there any correlation which can be made between businesses and churches? Can a church learn some lessons from how a business operates and implement some successful techniques in dealing with "the public."
The blessing of ministering for a long time is the thrill of watching children and teens become adults; and all of the time, effort and prayers invested in that person are truly worth it all. Pastor Wolvin & Pastor Stone reflect on some of those blessed people who are still encouraging them today.
Dr. Stone and Pastor Wolvin reflect on some young people to whom they have ministered...but it just didn't take. Even decades later, they remember THAT kid who gave them grief and headaches. Poor interactions with others, by the way, should never cause us to stop ministering to everyone.
Even after a combined 70 years of ministry, your two pastor-hosts can still clearly remember...THAT kid. This episode is focused on the children (or teens) who have crossed paths in ministry who still tug at the heartstrings.
What are we doing to prepare for the "passing of the baton" to the next generation in our independent Baptist churches? Are we properly preparing individuals (potential pastors) and the mindset of our congregations?
Realizing that Millenials will one day be leading all of our churches, Dr. Stone & Pastor Wolvin discuss the general strengths and weaknesses of their generation as well as their perception of the Millenial Generation.
Pastor Stone and Pastor Wolvin discuss the perceptions - as well as some of the realities - of this new & 'upcoming' generation of Millenials. Are they REALLY that much different than preceding generations?
Pastor Wolvin & Pastor Stone reflect on some poor advice which they have been given over the years - and even some poor advice which they may have given themselves. "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord." Proverbe 21:30
Bro. Stone & Bro. Wolvin reflect on good advice which they have been given early in their ministries. "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand." Proverbs 19:21
To close the week, the two pastors examine what the world needs now - in this age. Are the needs that much different today? It needs Jesus. It needs to learn Who Jesus is. It needs to learn what Jesus did. It needs believers to be consistent in sharing Jesus with others. It needs our churches to be the best that we can possibly be.
Pastor Wolvin and Dr. Stone continue to address the needs of our current generations. It needs the Bible. It needs believers who love the Bible. It needs believers who are living like they love the Bible.
Dr. Al Stone and Pastor Dan Wolvin address the need for new needs, new methods and new operations for a new year. The foolishness of preaching is still what God uses. Preaching is different than teaching. Be careful about judging your church program solely on a response than God's Word.
Dr. Stone and Pastor Wolvin remind the listener of the importance of attempting to have a consistent spirit. Whether we are in the pulpit, the pew, the aisle, the office or at home, it is a blessing for others to see consistency from those in ministry.
