Ep. 180 Alzheimer's Association - Greater PA Chapter: Supporting, Advocating, and Providing Hope

10/1/2025
Do you know that in Pennsylvania alone, there are more than 282,000 people living with Alzheimer’s? And that there are over 465,000 caregivers who dedicate 822 million hours of unpaid care for them? And do you also know that there are lots of helpers who are dedicated to lifting those folks up and providing support? The Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association are those helpers. They not only offer support to anyone facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, they advocate for their needs and rights, they advance critical research, and they work toward methods of treatment, prevention, and ultimately, a cure. Tressa sits down with the Association's Lynzy Groves and Raylene Gieg, two of the folks who have dedicated themselves to this mission. They are such generous souls who care so much for the people they help and the cause they support. Raylene is also currently a caregiver and you’ll hear that part of her story as well. You're also going to hear a lot about hope and progress during this conversation, and you’re going to learn ways that you can help, not only through volunteering or signing up for their Walk that’s coming up soon, but by looking out for early signs of Alzheimer’s and what steps to take if you think you or a loved one may have it. This is a really important and insightful conversation that we can't wait to share with you.
