Polyglot Means Multilingual with Joel Dubin

5/6/2024
I'm sure that no matter where we are from, or where we live, we like to consider our place to be pretty diverse. Well my expert today is coming from an area where just his part of town is home to 60 languages! And he surprisingly speaks many of them quite well. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Joel Dubin. Joel is a Polyglot, meaning he speaks many languages. In a world where many people consider learning a second language to be challenging, Joel feels like a fish in water using multiple languages every day of his life. He's here to shed some light on the practices he has found success with, as well as some of the things that might impede our progress when we endeavor to learn a new way to speak. ( Www.Twitter.Com/DubinsLanguages ) ( Www.Amazon.Com "Highly Dysfunctional Companies" ) Lass uns noch viel mehr Sprachen Sprechen! That is to say: Let's speak many more languages. I love languages so so much. If only I was better at speaking any of them! But still, I'd love to hear all of your complaints about either your own native language, or languages you've learned. In other news, May has begun and the rankings have shaken up a bit from the norm: 1. The United States, now led by California, Georgia, and Oregon. 2. South Korea! This is awesome and I'm so glad to see more listeners coming from that area! 3. England of the UK. 4. Australia, with New South Wales taking an early lead! 5. Ghana, bumping Canada clean off the list! That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! The SAT and Free Money with Shaan Patel

4/29/2024
Graduating from college generally comes with the payoff of earning more money in a career that you actually want, but the cost is so high that some never really consider it. Well, would you reconsider it if I told you that there was a free money just sitting on the table for you? Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Shaan Patel. Dr. Patel is the Founder and CEO of PrepExpert.Com. He came from humble beginnings: Studying for the SATs in a public library because it was free. After a perfect SAT score, he went on to research the ways in which other students could achieve the success he had found. Now he helps parents and students discover that college doesn't have to be expensive if you just figure out the system. If that's not enough evidence to believe in him, you should also know that he is business partners with Mark Cuban. ( Www.PrepExpert.Com ) ( Www.Amazon.Com "Prep Expert" ) Let's go to college for free! I really hope someone discovers that they can go to school because of this episode. I never knew there were such great scholarships just within reach, or I might have followed a different path through schooling. In other news, April is over and rankings didn't changed at all from last week: 1. The United States, still led by New York, California, and Texas. 2. England of the UK. 3. Australia, with South Australia rising to the top of a very tight race! 4. Canada, with Ontario maintaining a healthy lead. 5. Ghana, still beating all the other regulars. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Codependency with Dr. Sarah Michaud

4/22/2024
You are codependent. I'm sorry. I know that's not easy to hear, but it's the truth. And I'd rather you knew now, than waiting until you feel you have no way out. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Sarah Michaud. Dr. Michaud knows codependency better than anyone, having lived it, lived with it, and worked against it. She's joining us today to unshroud this insidious trait, and the ways in which we are all effected by it. She's also a listener of the show, and I'd love to hear from more listeners like her! If you want to come on an share your favorite niche, just email: DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com ( Www.DrSarahMichaud.Com ) ( Www.Amazon.Com "Co-Crazy" ) ( https://www.youtube.com/@leavingcrazytown ) Let's break free! I know I opened the show calling everyone codependent, but by the end of this episode: you've probably seen a handful of these red flags in yourself! You aren't crazy, you're just out of sync with yourself; like the rest of us. In other news, April is almost at an end and rankings haven't changed much since last week: 1. The United States, now led by New York, California, and Texas. 2. England of the UK. 3. Australia, with South Australia rising to the top of a very tight race! 4. Canada, with Ontario gaining a healthy lead. 5. Ghana, still boxing out Ireland. That's it for this week! Making AI Work For You with Philip Blackett

4/15/2024
I know we've done a couple AI episodes in a couple months, which is more consistent than most topics come up on this show, but they have each had a very different spin. And today's is no different, expanding on the possibilities of this ever growing technology to maybe earn you a raise. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Philip Blackett. Philip is the author of a new book, Future-Proof, that leverages AI to better your life. He's here to talk a bit about what AI can do, what that means for you, and how it can help secure your job regardless of the turbulence cause by machine learning programs. And make no mistake, there are massive repercussions. Plans to build a billion dollar movie studio are being scrapped after seeing the recent progress. Not to mention the layoffs major companies in all sectors are undergoing after seeing how AI can effect their bottom line. ( Www.PhilipBlackett.Com ) ( Www.Amazon.Com "Philip Blackett Future-Proof" ) Let's work smarter, not harder! April 15th, 2025. That's the one year mark from this episodes publish date. If you're listening to this after that date, I'll freely admit that I can't imagine what AI has grown to at this point. But I'm interested to see the things it will allow us to do that were previously out of reach. In other news, April rankings have changed very little since last week: 1. The United States, now led by New York, Oregon, and Texas. 2. England of the UK. 3. Australia, with Victoria almost being overrun by everyone! 4. Canada, with Ontario holding it's place at the top. 5. Ghana, just barely beating Ireland. That's it for this week! Child Welfare with Lance Hillsinger

4/8/2024
I think that I've only ever heard Child Protective Services mentioned in a scary context. Like: "CPS is going to come take your kids!" So when my expert today reached out to me, I couldn't wait to get the real scoop. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Lance Hillsinger. Lance retired after 34 years in Child Welfare. He's here to breakdown what child welfare does, what they don't do, and ways the system can improve. There are certainly some very surprising bits tucked away in this brief interview, like this: (audio only teaser) ( Www.LanceHillsinger.Net ) Let's foster better homes. Being a foster home must be a mix of stressful and rewarding. I'd love to have someone on who has some time into it, if anyone listening wants to come on the show. In other news, April rankings have shuffled a bit since last week: 1. The United States, now led by New York, California, and Illinois. 2. England of the UK. 3. Australia, with Victoria just barely staying above the South. 4. Canada, with Ontario taking over. 5. Ireland. Coming back strong for another month. That's it for this week! The Best Stress with Matt Soule

4/1/2024
It's strange to think that your path towards making stress work for you would start with a cold shower. But that immediate response to cold water is actually a very beneficial experience. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Matt Soule. Matt is so many things, but one of his most interesting careers is as a trainer of the Wim Hof method. You've probably seen videos of these people running around what looks like the arctic in nothing but their underwear, jumping into below freezing water like it doesn't even bother them. I don't know about you, but that sounds incredibly stressful to me! Yet if you ask Matt, it's easily one of the best things you could ever do to get your mind into a much better place. ( Www.StressParadox.Com ) Let's get cold! It's really striking how too much of a good thing causes us to embrace way more stress than necessary. So I'm going to challenge people in a bit different direction this time. Do five minutes less exercise. If you're already doing zero, you know you need to change, but if you're doing an hour? Do five minutes less. I'm challenging you to stop early. Then maybe tomorrow you realize you feel better because you didn't overdo it so much. Find a happy medium between doing the most you can do, and not doing it at all. This is the first day of April so the rankings are a little unusual: 1. The United States, led by Colorado, New Mexico, and Louisiana. 2. Australia, with Victoria at an early lead. 3. England of the UK. 4. Ghana. Welcome to the top 5. 5. Canada, with Quebec out front. Those will probably shift and change a bit over the first week quite a bit. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Until the next episode, pretty please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe. Rental Property Investments with Janet Tonkins

3/25/2024
I don't know that I have the right temperament to be a landlord. I'm probably too empathetic and forgiving to be making my living off of other people struggling to maintain a place to live. But, according to my expert today, it turns out that I might just be coming at it from the wrong angle. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Janet Tonkins. Janet is known as the "Cash Flow Diva". She is a Real Estate Developer, Investor, and Hard Money Lender with over 100 properties across multiple states. She's with us today to help others find financial freedom through one of the more difficult seeming avenues: Rental Properties. ( Www.TheCashFlowDiva.Com ) ( Email: Janet@TheCashFlowDiva.Com ) Let's learn real estate! It's definitely more dicey than I thought with the rules and penalties, but also seems like it carries a lot more power for growth on both sides of the situation... if you handle it correctly. This is the last week of March so there's a little time left to change the rankings: 1. The United States, led by New York, California, and Illinois. 2. England of the UK. 3. Canada, with Ontario neck and neck with British Columbia. 4. Australia, with Queensland barely holding out. 5. Ireland, hanging in there for the long haul. That's it for this week! Where is Delaware? with Dave Tabler

3/18/2024
Geography was never my strongest subject, so I had to guess at where Delaware was when I started discussing it with my expert today. And it turns out the term "Boswash Megalopolis" did not give me as many clues as I was hoping. My guest today is Dave Tabler. Dave is a historian with all kinds of interesting knowledge about the second smallest state. It sits in the aforementioned Boswash area, which is the space between Boston and Washington D.C. Specifically it's just east of D.C. and South of Philadelphia. And boy do they have some weird history since they are old enough to be part of the thirteen colonies, but isolated enough to not really be that involved. They end up with all kind of odds and ends from German food to Elizabethan English clothes and accents. This is very much a history and tourism kind of episode, which I know isn't everyone's thing, but it's a nice way to shake it up every now and then. I'd love to do more of these if there are any historians or just fans of the places they live or visit that want to educate us a little. And just before we get rolling, I've seen a lot of people picking up podcasting recently, and there's no better place to host your show than with Podbean! This show is a featured podcast over there and I've loved every moment of belonging to their service. ( Www.Podbean.Com ) ( "Dave Tabler" on Www.Amazon.Com ) Let's get aware of Delaware! So there's Delaware. Some fun, some weird, and some in between. I hope you enjoyed the history trip, but know that next week will be entirely different as always! In other news, the March rankings are competitive for sure: 1. The United States, led by New York, California, and Florida. 2. England, dethroning our now number 3... 3. Canada, with Ontario barely leading. 4. Australia, with Queensland holding the top spot. 5. Ireland, honestly showing up with such numbers it might take top 3 before the month is done! That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Becoming Wealthy with Bryan Kuderna

3/11/2024
What should I do with my money? That's a question that plagues most people day to day. You don't want to squirrel it all away and have no fun, but you also don't want to wind up in a position where you really need cash on hand, but have none. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Bryan Kuderna. Bryan is a financial advisor, helping people chase their dreams of early retirements and passive incomes. He explains that true wealth is so much more than the amount of dollars you get in every paycheck, and it really has me looking at each transaction in a very different light. You'll probably learn more in the first ten minutes than you learned in all of school. Also, as I've mentioned, this is a featured podcast on the Podbean streaming service. Not only a great place to listen to your favorite shows, but also a great place to start if you'd like to make your very own podcast! ( Www.BryanKuderna.Com ) ( "What Should I Do With My Money" on Www.Amazon.Com ) ( "The Kuderna Podcast" wherever you listen to podcasts) Let's figure out what this money can do for us! Seriously, go leave good reviews for things you enjoy. In other news, the March rankings are competitive to say the least: 1. The United States, led by New York, California, and Washington. 2. Canada, with Ontario still leading. 3. England of The United Kingdom. 4. Australia, with Queensland taking over top territory. 5. Ireland, holding on to their spot very tightly. First Time Parenting with Gabriel Thomas Spartan

3/4/2024
I think my favorite question to ask expecting parents is: Are you ready? Because they either laugh and say "No", or give an unconvincing "I hope so." Well the expert joining the show today is the first man I would believe if he said "Absolutely". Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Gabriel Thomas Spartan. Gabriel is a teacher with over 20 years experience internationally, proud owner of a #1 dad mug, an author with 10 published books, and a listener of the show! He's hear today to help all the new parents, expecting parents, and potential parents plan for their child's future. He's both passionate and intense about the messages he's bringing. And it's not to say that it's the only way to do it, but even attempting the things he suggests puts you miles ahead of every other parent out there who is playing every day by ear and hoping for the best. Also, as I've mentioned, this is a featured podcast on the Podbean streaming service. Check it out if you're looking for a wonderful listening experience for all your favorite shows. Also, don't be afraid to drop a comment wherever you are listening at. I love to hear what everyone thinks of these shows! ( Www.FirstTimeMomDad.Com ) Let's plan for our children's future! This is one of those things that no two people ever do the same. Even parents who already have two children raise the third entirely different. The hope is just that this makes that uncertain time of your lives a little easier with some much needed preparation. In other news, the March rankings have begun: 1. The United States, led by California, New York, and Michigan. 2. Canada, with Ontario out front. 3. Australia, with Tasmania holding the crown for (I think) the first time ever. 4. England of The United Kingdom. 5. Ireland. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Loneliness with Shila Patel

2/26/2024
We all get lonely sometimes. Some of us can be lonely while surrounded by people, and others of us might be lonely because we have no one else. And I'm not going to say either one is worse, but it's interesting to ask yourself which one you'd rather be. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Shila Patel. Doctor Patel was a psychiatrist for over 25 years, working with diverse ages and population along the east coast of the US. For about 15 years she was one of only two child psychiatrists in her area, able to watch and observe a generation of children becoming adults. She's since retired and written various books, one of which focuses on why we, the human race, are growing lonelier and choosing to not engage in relationships until much later, if at all. And as with most things in life these days, it's killing us. Unrelated, remember this is a featured podcast on the Podbean streaming service. Check it out if you're looking for a wonderful listening experience for all your favorite shows. They're helping me reach so many new listeners, who will hopefully also tell other people about the show... ( Www.DrShilaPatel.Com ) Let's address our isolation! I know it's a deeply uncomfortable premise, for whatever reason, but I think the best thing you can do after hearing this episode is to just call any of your friends that maybe you haven't spoken to in a little while. It doesn't have to be a long lost friend or anything. I called one of my best friends in the world just because it was nice to hear his voice instead of only texting him. The February rankings as we reach the end of the month are looking pretty close: 1. The United States, still led by New York, California, and Oregon. With a number of others very close behind. 2. Canada, with Quebec just barely over British Columbia. 3. Australia, still led by New South Wales. 4. England of The United Kingdom. 5. New Zealand, getting bumped down, but still hanging in there. The AI Reply with ChatGPT and ElevenLabs

2/19/2024
At the end of last year I had a future concepts specialist weigh in on what he thought about the future of AI and robotics. People seem to have really enjoyed it, but it left me wondering: Is this only one side of the story? Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is ChatGPT, the most used AI language model in the world by a wide margin. It receives four times as many visitors as the second most popular and one hundred times more than the tail end of the top 10, totaling almost fifteen BILLION individual visits just last year. Today I'll be asking the world's most popular AI it's opinions on some of the same things we touch on in that episode, as well as what it thinks about some other highly important human topics. This is going to be a bit surreal, but keep in mind that I did not write the script for this episode. I simply asked question to ChatGPT and had the answers read by the wonderful Adam voice program over at ElevenLabs, which borders on human. There is no person on the other end of the call with me. It's just me and the soft glow of my computer screen in a thematically darkened studio. If this really is me talking that is... ( Www.chat.openai.Com ( Www.elevenlabs.Io ) Let's see if there's a ghost in the machine! Having that "conversation" was quite the fun experience, but having a voice to reply to me really jumped the situation up a notch, and I could see how someone might interpret it as real if I hadn't already told you that it wasn't. On another note entirely, this show is currently being promoted by Podbean. I love the growth in listeners we get to see during this time, and also just how cool it is to say the show is a "Featured Podcast". The February rankings have some new updates: 1. The United States, still led by New York, Oregon, and California. 2. New Zealand! I think seeing it's first time as the second most popular country! Awesome! 3. Australia, just barely behind New Zealand and led by New South Wales. 4. Canada, with Ontario now leading Quebec. 5. England of The United Kingdom. That's it for this week! Hours to Expert with Annie Yang

2/12/2024
Now that the new year has settled in and people are starting to think about longer term goals, it's time to look for an expert who can help you reach those lofty goals. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Annie Margarita Yang. Annie was told by every professional in her life that she wasn't qualified for the job she wanted to do. But with sheer tenacity she scored the job in just seven days. Thinking it may be a a miracle, she tried to repeat the outcome and this time did it in only six days. With one more try, she got it down to just five. Now she works to help people either score their dream jobs or chase their passions with a thorough enough plan to still pay all of your bills along the way. So many people end up settling into a job that's just good enough. It pays ok, has some benefits, and the people aren't too bad. But what about the things you always wanted to do? Your dreams and aspirations shouldn't have to die just so you can eat. That's the mindset we are aiming to fix with some tips and perspective from this nice lady who has helped so many people do it. Sorry about the audio levels topping out in this interview. It's a whole technical problem that I couldn't solve without making our guest sound like she was speaking into a tin can. It's a single episode issue, but still a bummer to me. Anyway, Let's ignore the requirements! ( Www.AnnieYangFinancial.Com ) So it turns out that our society is just a numbers game? Want to get into that job field really badly? 50 applications a day. Want to win an award for writing? 50 applications to different contests. Want to have a bunch of new followers online? Pay a service to subscribe people to you. It bums me out a little, but it also does a really good job at bringing objective success that much closer by showing we are all on the cusp of succeeding. The February rankings have some updates: 1. The United States, led by New York, Oregon, and California. 2. Canada, with Quebec still leading by a little. 3. England of The United Kingdom. 4. New Zealand. 5. Australia, bumping Germany by just a couple listeners. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Spiritual Consulting with Edina Mauvana

2/5/2024
It's been a while since we've dipped our toe into the metaphysical pool. So today we're testing the waters of spiritual healing and the unseen threats which may worsen your already stressful life. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Edina Mauvana. Edina is a spirituality consultant, helping people from all walks of life find the right guidance to push through their darkest times to find the light. She's also an author and podcaster on top of that! We'll cover negative energies and the beings like Djinn that might be behind your most recent mental health slump. It's informative on multiple religions and philosophies while staying pretty neutral. ( "Into The Light!" on Www.Spotify.Com or Www.Youtube.Com ) Let's step into the light. Metaphysical interviews are always entertaining for me if nothing else. Even when I think I'm prepared, I rarely find them going how I imagined, and the people who speak on the topics are always so nice as well. I can't believe it's already February. Someone, I'm begging you, slow it all way down. Until that happens, new rankings keep happening: 1. The United States, led by New York, North Carolina, and Oregon. 2. Canada, with Quebec racing out front this month. 3. England of The United Kingdom. 4. Germany, led by Sachsen. Welcome back to the top, Deutschland! 5. India. Good to see you back here India. Obesity is in Your Head? with Dr. Chet Stringham

1/29/2024
What January would be complete without a topic addressing the extra weight we all seem to have? But this isn't exercise, it's not a diet, and it definitely isn't an expensive medication. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Dr. Chet Stringham. Chet has been in practice for almost 3 decades now, and has come across a discovery that both makes sense and challenges general practices: Obesity is largely caused by stress. Don't lose hope, I know stress can seem impossible to get rid of, but it is possible to reverse that. And none of us are in it alone. 70% of Americans are overweight, not obese, but still overweight. That's a really high number, because it means only 1 in 4 is maybe healthy. And the data he shares is pretty extreme in some cases. ( Www.ChetMD.Com ) Let's lose stress and weight! I'm not a doctor, not do I play one in a radio show, but I would still advise working out and a semi-decent diet alongside the life changes we've discussed today. Both are good for your long term mental and physical health aside from just the loss of weight. The top country rankings are the exact same as last week, so no update needed. I'll put it in the show notes if anyone cares to look: 1. The United States, still led by New York, Oregon, and Illinois. 2. England of The United Kingdom. 3. Australia, with Western Australia now taking over. 4. Canada, with British Columbia staying at the top. 5. New Zealand. That's it for this month! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here for another new episode! Kratom with Cynthia Girman

1/22/2024
If you go down to the local gas station or smoke shop, you'll likely see a large and brightly colored sign advertising the availability of a product with an strange name. An herbal supplement promising to not only take away your pain, but also get you high. And, in most places, you could buy it without any form of ID. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Cynthia Girman. Cynthia has been an epidemiologist and biostatistician for decades, which makes it all the more unusual that one day her son overdosed on a substance that she'd barely heard of before: Kratom. There's no easy or punchy way for me to summarize the multitude of failures we discuss in this interview, but it runs the gamut from simple greed to complete government failings. I get a lot more personally involved in this topic, and tell a story about my personal life, which is usually something I steer clear of. Let me know if it actually improves the show for you, or if you'd rather I stayed the enigma that I am. But, while I'm talking about personal experiences: you should all really consider getting blue-free lights and/or changing you light habits. I noticed a difference when I made the shift after last week's episode spooked me. ( Www.WingsOfPeacePress.Com ) Let's please, for the love of all mankind, not do kratom! I don't know what more we could say to convince you. I sincerely hope you aren't planning to use Kratom in any form until it has enough safety and regulation. The top country rankings have shuffled a little bit: 1. The United States, still led by New York, Oregon, and Illinois. Although I do see California and Florida creeping up from behind. 2. England of The United Kingdom. 3. Australia, with Western Australia now taking over. 4. Canada, with British Columbia staying at the top. 5. New Zealand, now beating Ireland. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here for another new episode! Deadly Lightbulbs with Dr. Martin Moore-Ede

1/15/2024
Would you believe me if I told you that the screen of the computer or phone you are viewing this episode from is making you fatter? What if I were to inform you that the overhead lights in your home and workplace were increasing your risk of breast cancer and depression? Unfortunately, both of those are true statements, plus many more shocking facts as we'll learn with my guest today. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Dr. Martin Moore-Ede. The good doctor was previously a professor of Harvard Medical School before he left academia in search of a solution to the problem he was seeing: The devastating effects of our current LED lights on the human body. After 250 separate scientists confirmed Dr. Moore-Ede's theory, he set out to invent a new lightbulb that won't harm you... and he succeeded. It's a fascinating interview about a thing we really take for granted, and I know I learned a lot just listening to him. A little heads up that the guest side of this conversation is not necessarily the audio quality you may be used to, but I've done what I can to help and you'll adapt pretty quickly with that wonderful brain you've got. ( Www.TheLightDoctor.Com ) ( Www.Soraa.Com ) Let's light it up! I'm personally picking up a couple of these blue-free LED lights because I'm usually up quite late working on this show, and I'd like to not develop diabetes or cancer because I like to see in the dark. The top country rankings have updated a bit: 1. The United States, still led by New York, Oregon, and Illinois. 2. The United Kingdom, with England way out front. 3. Canada, with British Columbia taking the lead from the normal powerhouse province. 4. Australia, with New South Wales holding it's spot. 5. Ireland tied with New Zealand. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here for another new episode! Sculpting Monuments with Mike Major

1/8/2024
We've all seen statues in our lives. Be it small enough for your home garden or big enough for Madison Square Garden, someone was hired to make them. And today, I've got the man responsible for many of the country's greatest bronze sculptures. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Mike Major. Mike is an artist of many mediums with decades to back up each brush stroke and chisel. He even has 14 published art books if you can believe it! But by far his works which impress me the most are his sculpture. Standing leagues above the average person, these giant figures give me pause whenever I see them. I've wondered for so long just how something that colossal could be made, and today I got my answers! We also discuss just how hard it can be to make art full time, and the things Mike has done to make it a whole lot easier on himself. ( Www.MikeMajor.Com ) ( Amazon Book Link: https://a.co/d/2wcmROa ) Let's shape history! And thank you all for listening! I hope everyone's new year is going well, despite the things I see in the news. The top country rankings continue marching onward: 1. The United States, led by Oregon, New York, and Illinois. 2. The United Kingdom, led by England. 3. Australia, with New South Wales barely in the lead. 4. New Zealand. I have no further data on where, but if a listener emails me I'll include their home town or wherever as the place. 5. Canada, with Ontario out front. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here for another new episode! Trauma Informed Yoga with Nicole Byars

1/2/2024
There's no version of me that want's to be in a hot, sweaty room with strangers telling me what I'm doing wrong. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Nicole Byars. Nicole owns a yoga studio where she specializes in teaching trauma informed yoga. It's much more about getting back in touch with all of the parts of you that you have numbed over the years, with none of the unpleasant sweat box environments or physical contact with others. I actually think I'm going to try it a bit after having done this interview, because I think we all sort of fall out of sync with ourselves overtime, even if it's just a tiny bit per week, month, or year. ( Instagram: @NicByars ) ( Www.NicoleByars.Com ) ( Www.TheHonestYoga.Com ) If you can't hear it, I'm sick again! This time with RSV. So I hit the respiratory triad just in time to see 2023 ride into the sunset. I also figured you want to hear as little of this voice as possible, so I'm doing a regular episode and I'll do the wrap up on 2023 after the interview is over if any hardcore fans actually want to hear that. Let's get back in touch with our bodies! This is the first episode of the new year. Hopefully it's the the tip of the inspiration iceberg for those of you planning to better yourself this year! As promised: The 2023 Just Dumb Enough rankings: Top 10 Episodes/Topics: 1. Near Death Experiences 2. An Afterlife 3. Refreaming Discrimination 4. Psychedelic Medicine 5. Dieting Correctly 6. Working Dogs 7. Modern Caveman Brains 8. Life in a Cult 9. Pole Dancing 10. The JFK Assassination What a list of glowing recommendations from your fellow audience members if you haven't checked any of those out! Top 10 Countries: 1. The United States, still under half my total audience, with the champions being Oregon, Texas, New York, California, and Illinois in that order. 2. The United Kingdom, led by England and Scotland. 3. Australia, with Victoria and New South Wales easily taking top spots. 4. Canada, with Ontario and British Columbia dominating the others. 5. Germany, with Bayern and Hessen narrowly claiming victory. 6. Sweden, with Stockholm and Skane out front. 7. New Zealand. 8. India. 9. Iran. 10. Ireland. Congrats to 2023's big winners! I hope I get to see all of these places and their cool people some day! That's it for this week! Have a great first week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here for another new episode! Sports Recruiting with Jeff Howell

12/25/2023
I think my brain still lives in the days when I went to school: where scouts and recruiters showed up to see a high school game and assess talent with their own eyes. But that hasn't been the case for many years, and the fact is that you or your kids might never meet face to face with a scout even in they're invited to an excellent program. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Jeff Howell. Jeff is a man of many hats, and one of those is Athletic Recruiting; specifically at the college level. The information is still valid at all levels, but his bread and butter is working with student athletes attempting to get athletic scholarships. We also break down how to build a highlight reel with no experience and minimal equipment, plus the different NCAA divisions and what that means for a person looking for a school that fits their needs. ( Www.JeffHowell.Me ) ( www.ncsasports.org ) Let's get scouted! This is the last episode of the year. I can't believe we're already here. My brain is so unprepared I'm even rhyming apparently. Anyway, the next episode will have a 2023 retrospective including looking back at the last year as a whole. If you want that and another episode: let me know with a quick email to DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com since I know it's probably not everyone's cup of tea. The final-ish December rankings are: 1. The United States, still led by New York, Oregon, and South Carolina. 2. The United Kingdom, led by England but followed closely by Scotland. 3. Germany, dropping down a spot but held up by Berlin. 4. Canada, with Ontario dominating the other provinces. 5. New Zealand, beating Australia in a total upset right at the end. That's it for this week, this month, and this year! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next year for a new episode!
