6/26/2024
Many years ago, I introduced a new format that alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.” Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur. I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone. If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah," I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives. Lessons for Hannah are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives. Because I want Hannah to have these for her life, I’m going to speak as though I am talking directly to her. 409: Roman Empire Parallels: Seizing Opportunities Amid Economic Chaos with Jeremy Ryan Slate

6/19/2024
This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Jeremy Ryan Slate. I’ve known Jeremy for almost a decade. We started our podcasts about the same time and have shared the stage together at a number of events over the years. If you don’t know Jeremy, he is the host of the Jeremy Ryan Slate show, which studies the highest performers in the world and dives deep into world events. He studied literature at Oxford University, as well as holds a Master’s in the study of the Early Roman Empire from Seton Hall University. His podcast was named the #1 Podcast to Listen to by INC Magazine, as well as Top 40 Under 40 by Podcast Magazine. He also owns the Command Your Brand public relations agency with his wife Brielle. Many of you that have listened to me for a while, know that I love studying history, especially world and economic history. Part of that is because I love the topic, but the other part is because I have run a financial education business and small investment fund for years, so I have to keep up on this stuff. I have been wanting to do a show for a while on where things are going with the US economy and where we fit into the history of the rise and decline of empires because there are some striking parallels going on right now – especially to Rome. As a business owner or entrepreneur, where we are going affects you – not just the inflation we are seeing, but the dollar being challenged as a reserve currency and other happenings. And who better to discuss this with than Jeremy! commandyourbrand.com To see the full show notes and Misfit 3 for this episode, go to www.MisfitEntrepreneur.com Show Sponsors: Are you looking for a vehicle to help you in your financial and retirement goals that offers: • Guaranteed, predictable growth and retirement income? • Tax-free retirement income? • More control over you money? • And built in inflation protection? 396: Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI Challenges with Chris Wright

3/20/2024
This week’s Misfit Entrepreneur is Chris Wright. We’ve had multiple guests on the show talking about the growth of AI and the benefits of it, but what about the potential downsides? In a world where AI can create videos and deep fakes of anyone in seconds or access individual’s data from social platforms and other sources and use it: how do you protect yourself and keep control of your data, personal information, and other valuable online assets? Those are exactly the questions I had been asking myself when I was introduced to Chris Wright. Chris is a former US Army attack helicopter pilot, entrepreneur, and founder of the AI Trust Council. The AITC is building a pro-human social networking platform that helps users distinguish real from fake online. Its goal is to give users control of their meta data to create passive income and provide a mechanism to help steer the direction of A.I. The council aims to ensure humans are empowered with the tools necessary to establish trust to build a pro human future. I think this is one of the most important topics for entrepreneurs to understand and find opportunity in over the next decade and Chris is on the bleeding edge, so I asked him on the discuss how we can not only protect ourselves, but also maximize our potential in the age of AI.
