The battle rages on! In one corner we have Pyre and the Restless Jackals. In another, we have the Inquisitor. And finally, the Backalley Crew, caught in a vise. So the "final" battle has begun. We have Pyre and the Restless Jackals on one side. On another side, the Inquisitor. And stuck in the middle is the Back Alley Cleanup Crew and the Assassin's Blade. After resting and shopping in Otari, the party grabs their super long ladder / bridge and heads back out to the keep. Once there, they find that the bodies from their last encounters have been moved. But to where? And who moved them? Also, is there really a dragon just living in the keep and eating enormous frogs? At least the players have figured out combat and are moving through that process much quicker. The DM? He's still learning. The whole group is FINALLY back together. That's the good news. The bad news? They all seem to be chained inside of the Assassin's Blade. But wait, it gets worse. Apparently, Filetti, who is in possession of the blade, is both trapped inside of the mountain AND hears the sounds of battle coming toward her. Who could that be? The Restless Jackals? Pyre? The Inquisitors? Someone else? Or worse, some combination of the three. Either way, things seem to be coming to a head. After defeating the fire giant guardians, the party grabs the Flame of a Thousand Suns and head back toward the Sultan. Unfortunately, they learn from Pebble along the way that Filetti has the blade and is in some kind of danger. They are now under another clock and have to use extreme measures to return in time. Luckily, they have crack negotiator Traacs on their side, so there is no way that they will give up more than they already have. Right? Combat! The fire giants were in no mood to negotiate, so we jump headlong into combat. Turns out that the party may have to actually work together to defeat these guys. All the while, Pebble learns that someone has possession of HIS blade and may provide another link to the outside world. The party remains split! Outside of the blade, the main group meets the Sultan of the City of Brass and learns how to destroy the blade. The party is finally inside the keep! Now that they have their feet wet with their first combat, this should be a breeze. Unfortunately, things don't always work out as planned. And speaking of getting their feet wet, they decide to figure out how combat works in water in Pathfinder after an incident with the drawbridge. The party, minus Pebble, find out that defeating an Efreeti doesn't end your issues. It just brings out more Efreeti. And now it's time to run away, or at least sail away, on the Astral Sea. After receiving the "secret" to being the king of the blade from Pyre, Pebble decides to use the magical phrase and enter into the unknown. Simultaneously, the rest of the party finds themselves back in the Astral Sea. This split party must now maneuver their respective fates with only a cursory knowledge of what is happening to the others. Simple, right?
