The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Emil Rem

6/12/2024
Emil Rem—an eccentric accountant, has become a writer of eccentric characters in exotic locales—using his stories to take us on a trip into his fascinating twisted world. Born to a close-knit, Muslim, East Indian family in Dar-es-Salam in the 50’s, he then moved to Maidenhead, England at the age of five. The next twenty years were spent shuttling between England and East Africa—attending Christian church wearing a St. Christopher’s Cross one minute, to wearing a green armband at Muslim religious classes in Africa the next. These days, Emil and his wife (originally from the Philippines) live in Calgary, Canada. They have two sons. The adventure continues... In his third novel—using his signature blend of personal memories interwoven with history and depictions of his ongoing travels, the author takes us through Spain and Gibraltar—creating an insightful narrative around a vivid host of characters and experiences on this journey to rediscover the ‘vanished’ landscapes of his culture and his childhood. http://emilrem.ca The Douglas Coleman Show VE (Video Edition) offers video promotional packages for authors. About BA: Daniel Li (Lawrence Kao) and his daughter Collette (Kai Cech) are without options, money, or a home. In a desperate bid to secure his daughter's future, Daniel unwittingly accepts a chilling role - becoming Death itself. He undergoes a haunting physical transformation and learns the hard way that anything he touches will perish. Things come to a head when Collette discovers the truth about Daniel, causing their whole world to unravel. Written and directed by Benjamin Wong and produced by Elizabeth Ai, their passion project BA is an accumulation of real-life experiences being Asian-American, the struggles parenting, paternal love and sacrifice, as well as the reality that not all stories have a “Hollywood ending.” Both Benjamin and Elizabeth are parents with their respective partners, and a big part of the inspiration of this film came from not knowing what it means to be a parent when experiencing it for the first time and realizing how much parents are willing to sacrifice for their child. The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Brent Olson

2/23/2024
Brent Olson’s biggest, boldest, and best book yet is a stunning work of alternative history. Olson has achieved an entirely new script for the world by moving the path of one arrow one inch. Brent Olson, a journalist for a quarter of a century, has published seven books and filed thousands of articles from over twenty countries on six continents. Throughout this time, he couldn’t help but wonder, “Could we have done better?” Not fully content with his world, he decided to create a new one. HARALD SIGURDSSON, King Harald Hardrada of Norway, King of the Vikings, was born to rule. He embraced that birthright, dominating his world with the strength in his arm and the power of his will. In an instant, one brutal mistake and a shattering wound took all he valued from him. But what if . . .Harald Sigurdsson fled his disgrace with a band of equally broken warriors still holding tight to his leadership. They ventured West, to Iceland, Greenland, into the darkness, to a land known only through legends and lies. A land with no need for a king, no room for a ruler. A land where a king could hope to become something more. This enthralling, thought-provoking story begins a thousand years ago on a battlefield outside York, England, and then moves across the North Atlantic to Iceland and beyond. Brent Olson’s biggest, boldest, and best book yet is a stunning work of alternative history. By moving the path of one arrow one inch, Olson has achieved an entire new script for the world. Born and raised in Israel, the author served in the IDF. She now lives in Long Island, NY and Boca Raton, FL. THE BOY WITH THE STAR TATTOO is an epic historical novel weaving two yet-untold events set in France, the first set in 1946 in the aftermath of the Holocaust, when agents from Eretz Israel roamed the European countryside to rescue hidden Jewish orphans (Youth Aliya). The second is set in 1969, about the daring escape of the boats of Cherbourg, in Normandy, which were commissioned and paid for by Israel but whose delivery was blocked by a French arms embargo.
