This was an amazing pairing. The stick was excellent, what you would expect from a name like Macanudo. The spirit however, the Bahnbrecker Slow River Blend was unlike any straight whiskey I have ever tried. I mean you get hints of this or hints of that but this whiskey punched you in the mouth was a banana. To have no flavorings added or be made with any part of a banana, that is the biggest note on the profile and it was good. I heartily recommend both these but you must try the Slow River Blend. This pairing was a wonderful experience. The Oliva Master Blends 3 lived up to its billing and it paired perfectly with the St. Remy XO. I had doubts about the stick in the matchup as the test smoke I had two days prior was exceptionally dry and pretty much exploded on me. However, for the review the stick performed flawlessly so it must have just been that one stick. Overall a really good pairing. I was impressed with the Still Austin Straight Bourbon. It was very complex and interesting, and an overall very good dram. The stick offered some great palate notes and as I said performed perfectly. This was an exceptional experience. The Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof was showing its' wares in a bold way. There were notes of maple syrup and caramelized banana that blended very well with the Shade Grown stick's vanilla and sweetness. The JD is stout at 128.7 proof but very manageable and doesn't require water to cut it down. You might consider adding a teaspoon or so but I didn't and it was delicious with a super long finish. During the first half I was afraid maybe I had guessed wrong on this pairing and they were going to be better separately than together but as the show progressed the flavors began to work in concert. The Eiroa is a timeless stick that you could enjoy any day. It is just a nice full-flavored, yet smooth and mellow stick. The Bushmills 10 YO may be my favorite Irish Whisky, it is very good with a nice fruity profile that doesn't come across as too fruity or sweet, just enough. I hope you enjoy them, CHEERS!

These are just my thoughts on this issue. I do not believe Jason Aldean at any intention of promoting racism with this song. I watched, I read, I listened to this song, the lyrics, and the video. It wasn't promoting racism, it was promoting small town values of neighbor helping neighbor and everyone feels like family regardless of race. The images of rioting was not directed at one individual race, if you remember downtown Seattle was taken over for weeks by what appeared to be mostly Caucasian protestors that did just as much damage as riots any other big cities. As far as the venue the production company said that was all them. They got a team to go around to several small owns within an hour or so of Nashville and Columbia was chosen, and that Jason was not part of that process. You probably cannot go into any small town in the South and not find some sort of racial violence during the 100 years between the Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Era 100 years later. It was terrible, it shouldn't have happened. But, the country has grown from it and moved past it but some people just won't let it die. Morgan Freeman said if you want to end racism stop talking about it. I don't think it is quite that simple but I get his meaning, if we stop being hyphenated Americans and just be Americans that would be a step in the right direction. We are the only country on earth to do that. Have you ever heard of a Germo-Hispanic or French-African. My expectations for this pairing were a little low and it surprisingly surpassed them. The stick was mellow and the drawback was that it just never developed the complexity I was hoping it would. The spirit was good and the stick actually made it better and brought out more of the smooth sherry notes but I think the spirit needs to be aged longer. This was an exceptional pairing from the first light. Both the stick and the spirit offered a gentle sweetness with no harshness at all. The stick is a little pricey at about $25 but it is worth every penny. The spirit is a classic Speyside with no smoke or peat just wonderful aromas and flavors of fruit and breezy spring meadows. How could I go wrong with this matchup. Two of my favorite brands in one pairing. The Flor de San Andres was a great smoke, the An Andres wrapper really shined. The JW 18 YO is smooth and may be replacing Green Label as my favorite JW offering. Definitely need to try these two. CHEERS!

This was a really good pairing. The RYJ was not complex but a solid smoke. The Tullabardine was a very complex, delicious spirit that I would recommend.

This turned out to be a really great pairing. I was a little surprised because it is so non-traditional but the palate profiles of each married very well to the other. This would be a great pairing for someone new to cigars and spirits. Also people looking to expand their palate. There are a lot of flavors going on in the Private Stock so lots of things to concentrate on. CHEERS!

This was a really good pairing. The Le Bijou I thought could be a little more complex but very good none-the-less. The 4 Roses Single Barrel is an exceptional bourbon that is nicely complex. It is 100 proof and maybe a bit stout for newbies in the whiskey world but I think you can handle it. CHEERS!

This was a surprisingly good pairing. The Deadwood FBB was a great mix of sweet and tobacco. The Ghost Hill is 57% corn and 32% wheat so it is the vein of a Buffalo Trace, Weller, or Pappy. If you like those you will like this. It too has a nice shot of sweet on the palate and some great complementing flavors as well. These two seemed like an excellent match and you should definitely try them. CHEERS!

This turned out to be an absolutely wonderful pairing. The mild to medium strength of the Orange Label paired perfectly with the lower proof Akashi Ume. You have to try these two together! CHEERS!!
