Episode 739: What is Trump Promising to Big Donors? Lindsey Graham in the MAGA Crosshairs

4/11/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! At his fundraiser this past weekend, Donald Trump promised the crowd of wealthy supporters that he would fight to keep their taxes low if he gets back into office. This was part of his sales pitch to ensure that they give him money for his campaign. The wealthy class doesn't care about his coup attempt or his criminal charges or the threat he poses to the country - all they care about is saving a few million dollars a year on their taxes. The company that is backing Donald Trump's fraud trial bond has come under fire from prosecutors, and Judge Arthur Engoron has even scheduled a hearing with the company to determine if they can even afford to post it. And now new reports have found some serious discrepancies with the actual contract that the company produced for the bond that could result in it being completely thrown out. Lindsey Graham wasn't happy with Donald Trump's recent comments about letting states decide what rights women are allowed to have (Lindsey wants the federal government to take those rights away,) and this prompted Trump to go nuclear against his former friend. But it didn't end there. Later in the day, Trump decided to finish off Graham for good, and Trump said that he takes the blame for Graham existing in the Senate because his endorsement is what saved his career. It is safe to say that, for now, this relationship appears to be over. A federal judge has taken the unusual step of sending a letter to the "friends and allies" of a convicted Capitol Rioter, warning them to stop saying that the man did "nothing wrong" and to stop condoning and downplaying political violence. While the letter was supposedly meant for the convict's inner circle, it read more like a warning to the Republican Party itself that continues to downplay what happened on January 6th. Episode 738: Trump's Billion Dollar Week; Giuliani's Podcast Studio in Jeopardy?

4/5/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! According to recent financial filings, Donald Trump's Truth Social - which was just merged with Digital World Acquisition when they acquired the Trump Media and Technology Group - lost WAY more money last year than previously thought. Previous estimates assumed the company lost about $30 million, but the real amount was actually a loss of more than $50 million last year. So how can a completely worthless company that is hemorrhaging money be worth $8 billion in the stock market? The group of creditors that are trying to get their money from the now-bankrupt Rudy Giuliani have been asking a judge to look into Giuliani's multi-million dollar condo in Florida and possibly sell it to settle his debts. But Giuliani is now trying to convince the judge overseeing the bankruptcy to leave the condo alone because, as Giuliani told him, he needs it to continue his podcasting. That's not a valid reason to avoid paying your debts. Eleven Republican-controlled states have filed a federal lawsuit against the Biden administration over the latest attempts to cancel student loan debt for certain borrowers. The states claim that President Biden doesn't have the authority to do this, but what they are really trying to prevent is a political win for the Biden administration. Cancelling the debt hurts no one, so the states have had to come up with an absurd legal argument to claim that they have been damaged. Donald Trump's first criminal trial is starting in just under two weeks, and he is running out of options to delay it. But, there could be a chance for him to buy some more time, but only if he goes scorched earth on his own legal team. A former prosecutor has pointed out that his only chance of getting a significant delay would be to fire his entire team of lawyers, which would give him the ability to argue that his new team needs time to prepare and learn the case. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 737: Trump and Our Two-Tiered Justice System

3/28/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! As expected, Donald Trump manages to escape justice, yet again. The appeals court decided at the last minute on Monday to not only reduce his bond from $464 million to $175 million, but they also gave him an extra 10 days to pay it. There was no reason at all for the extension or the reduction, but this is the kind of thing that always happens with Donald Trump. While speaking to reporters on Monday, Donald Trump suggested that being a convicted felon might actually help him in this year's election. He was referring to the New York hush money case that is heading to trial on April 15th, where he will face an already-angry judge and a jury that likely won't be fond of him. But he's delusional if he thinks a conviction will help him, as every single poll that's asked the question shows that a conviction would cause him to lose. President Biden has spent the past few weeks (and days) going hard against Donald Trump, and it is being reflected in the latest rounds of polling. Biden has now surged in 5 swing states while Trump has fallen in nearly all of them over the past month. If the election were held today and followed the polls, Biden would easily cruise to an electoral victory. But he has to maintain this aggressive campaign to be successful. Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna went on Fox News this week to talk about the mass exodus of Republican lawmakers from the House, and she accused her Party of a plot to "cripple" themselves. She was referring to the fact that Republicans will now only have a one vote majority, and her anger was directed at those who have resigned this year. But she needs to actually be angry at the extremists in her Party that are pushing everyone out. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 736: Cash Seems to Be Hard to Come By for Trump; Will Pence Bend the Knee; Update on Document Case

3/21/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump's lawyers were finally forced to admit in a court filing on Monday that he does not have the cash available to pay the $464 million bond for the fraud judgement against him in order to appeal the verdict. The lawyers are asking for the judge to simply postpone the posting of the bond until after the appeal, but that's not how things work. Due to the fact that he was rejected by at least 30 underwriters, it is apparent that Trump is a risk for paying at all. During a recent speech, Donald Trump referred to the imprisoned Capitol Rioters "hostages," echoing a claim that he's made before and one that has been made by lawmakers like Marjorie Taylor Greene for years. Trump also admitted that he'll pardon these people, and these two statements were the breaking point for Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence. In an interview on Fox News, Pence not only trashed Trump for calling these people "hostages," but said that he will not be endorsing Trump. During a podcast interview this week, Trump lawyer Alina Habba said that she is confident that she will get the $464 million fraud verdict against Donald Trump dismissed upon appeal. Ironically, this interview was conducted BEFORE Trump's lawyers had to tell the court that he's not able to pay the bond, which means that the appeal might not even be able to happen. There's a good chance that Trump could see his properties be taken away from him, all while the arrogant Habba swears everything will be ok. And Judge Aileen Cannon delivered an absolutely insane ruling on Monday evening as part of her jury instructions to both federal prosecutors and Trump's legal team. The ruling says that members of the jury have to be given access to the highly sensitive classified documents that were uncovered at Mar-a-Lago - and if Jack Smith doesn't allow that, then they jury will be instructed to assume that they were all personal documents that rightfully belonged to Donald Trump. Episode 735: The Return of George Santos? Kellyanne the Tik Tok Lobbyist? Trump to Cut Social Security and Medicare?

3/14/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! George Santos isn't worried about the prospect of spending the next few decades in prison, and he's already making plans for the next few years. Santos announced just a few days ago that he is once again running for Congress, this time trying to unseat Republican Represenative Nick LaLota for New York's First Congressional district seat. Santos has more important things to worry about, but he would rather get media attention than fret over his upcoming criminal trial. Kellyanne Conway is taking a break from her role of teaching Republicans how to talk about women's issues to take on a new task: Preventing the government from banning TikTok. And her conservative peers are furious about her new crusade. Fox News host Mark Levin lashed out at Conway over the weekend, saying that it wasn't just "appalling" that she's being paid to protect TikTok, but also that it was "shocking." For once, Conway might be on the correct side of an issue, and that's making conservatives very angry. During an interview on CNBC this week, Donald Trump decided to torpedo his presidential campaign by saying that there are lots of things you can do in terms of cutting "entitlement" programs, which means Social Security and Medicare. If this is what Trump is going to campaign on, he is going to lose the largest voting demographic for Republicans, which happens to be people on Social Security and Medicare. Donald Trump's cronies that are now in charge of the Republican National Committee have begun purging employees, with dozens let go so far this week. These people are being let go because the new leadership wants to make sure that they have people who are loyal only to Trump, and that's not going to end well for the Party. Episode 734: SCOTUS Disappoints in Trump Ruling; Ted Cruz in Trouble in Texas; Boebert's Family Drama Continues

3/7/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! The United States Supreme Court handed down their predictable ruling on Monday that allows Donald Trump to stay on the ballot this year. This is what was widely expected, but it certainly flies in the face of the language of the Constitution. However, their unanimous ruling did leave the door open for potential challenges in the future. The latest polling out of the state of Texas has some horrific news for Ted Cruz. The poll shows that Cruz is in a dead heat with his Democratic opponent Colin Allred, with both men recording 41% of the vote right now. While these numbers are bad for Cruz, they do leave a LOT of room for undecided voters to give one candidate an edge to win in a landslide, and there's a good chance many of these voters break for Cruz by election day. According to reports, Lauren Boebert had to skip a recent campaign event - instead sending her campaign manager to speak - as she was busy dealing with more family drama. The reports say that Boebert's ex husband had been threatening to throw all of her belongings into a pond, so Boebert had to skip the event to make sure this didn't happen. Is this really what the people in Colorado want to have to deal with with their elected officials? And Donald Trump's lawyers begged Judge Lewis Kaplan for a third time to postpone the due date of the $83 million judgement against Trump for another 30 days, but Kaplan doesn't appear to be ready to give Trump any kind of extension. The former President is freaking out, and his panicked motions to the judge are all the proof that we need of that fact. If the judge doesn't grant the delay, E. Jean Carroll's lawyers might move to start seizing his properties next week. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 733: RNC Now Under Trump Rule; Haley In or Out? Is Shut Down Inevitable

2/29/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump is getting everything that he wanted from the Republican Party with Ronna McDaniel announcing her retirement on Monday. McDaniel had played coy about media reports saying she was retiring after the South Carolina primary for weeks, but ultimately did exactly what was predicted. Now Trump will have the ability to completely take over the Party, and that could be the beginning of the end of the GOP forever. On Monday, Donald Trump's lawyers filed a notice of appeal for the ruling against him in the New York fraud trial. However, in order to actually appeal the ruling, the defendant - Trump - has to put a sizable portion of the judgement against him into an escrow account for the court, and reports do not mention that this has been one. If Trump doesn't put up the money, the appeal cannot actually begin. Donald Trump may have beaten Nikki Haley in the South Carolina primary this past weekend, but that doesn't mean that things are going well for his campaign. In fact, things are going worse than ever behind the scenes. Not only is his campaign being drained of cash because of his legal fees, but he's also suffering from a severe lack of enthusiasm as the crowds showing up to his rallies continue to get smaller. And hard-line Republican extremists in the House are pushing the US towards a government shutdown this Friday if their terrorist-like demands aren't met. With a deadline of Friday, March 1st, quickly approaching, negotiations for a budget deal have once again stalled because the extremist GOP members in the House want to gut Biden's climate initiatives, cut the salaries of cabinet officials, and enact a slew of anti-LGBTQ and anti-abortion measures. Episode 732: Trump Makes Excuses for Gaffes; Nepotism is a Trump Family Affair; Giuliani's Bankruptcy Recap

2/23/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! During a rally last week, Donald Trump attacked the media for reporting on all of his mental gaffes, and then he told the cult-like audience that he's actually doing all of those things (making constant mistakes) on purpose. This man is incapable of telling the truth, and his followers are incapable of believing the truth, so this really is a match made in heaven for Trump. But for those of us in reality, this claim is just another lie that Trump tells to make himself feel better. Conservative commentator Charlie Sykes quipped last week that Donald Trump may end up picking one of his sons to be his running mate due to his penchant for nepotism. While the comment was meant to be humorous, it also presents a very real possibility for Trump. If he wants to create a political dynasty with staying power, he'll have to get his idiot sons into the game - and he knows that they can't succeed on their own. Donald Trump has been successful in getting Judge Aileen Cannon to delay his documents trial, and he's hoping that she will continue to delay it indefinitely so that he doesn't have to face the music before the election. But this could come back to bite him, as it could clear the calendar in a way that allows Judge Tanya Chutkan to move his January 6th trial up, causing that conclusion to be reached before the election. Cannon's continued interference is now on track to hurt the man she's trying to protect. The judge overseeing Rudy Giuliani's bankruptcy proceeding has ordered the former New York City mayor to reveal every one of his donors that is paying his legal fees. Giuliani will also have to reveal how the money is being disbursed and what it is being used for in an itemized list. This is not good news for Rudy, as it could shame his donors to the point where they no longer wish to fund his legal problems, leaving him with no lawyers for the cases that he still faces. Republicans in the House successfully impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas last week, but that was the easy part. They now have to hold a trial in the Senate in order to convict and remove him from office, and that's not going to happen. In fact, there's a good chance that the articles of impeachment are dismissed straight away without a trial being held. Ted Cruz is begging Mitch McConnell to prevent that from happening, but dismissing the charges will save Republicans a LOT of embarrassment during an election year. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire!

Episode 731: Trump Keeping RNC Leadership in the Family; NATO Comments Insane; Will SCOTUS Bail Out Donald?

2/15/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! The RNC is about to get a leadership makeover, and somehow it looks like it'll be even worse than the leadership they have today. Donald Trump has put forth a list of people that he wants to run the Party, and he'll almost certainly get his way. One of the people is his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, who Trump has endorsed as being the co-chair of the Party. When this happens, it'll solidify Trump's hold over the entire Party and that could be the beginning of the end. Most Americans with either a brain or a conscience were shocked at Donald Trump's comments over the weekend when he suggested that he would encourage Russia to attack our allies in NATO if they were "delinquent" in paying their dues. One CNN host, Christiane Amanpour, went as far as to say that the comments were "literally insane." But Trump's allies in Washington, D.C. thought nothing of it, and some actually suggested it was a great idea. Republicans in the House of Representatives seem to have a humiliation kink, as they continue to get embarrassed by the witnesses that they are calling in the Hunter Biden and President Biden impeachment investigations. This week, they called the CEO of a lobbying group to talk about President Biden's connection to Burisma, but their fishing expedition was quickly ended when the witness told them that the former Vice President never got any kickbacks nor did he do Burisma any favors while in office. So far, every single witness has said the same thing, leaving Republicans with absolutely nothing. Donald Trump has officially asked the Supreme Court to bail him out once again. Last week he was begging the court to NOT allow him to be kicked off ballots, and this week his legal team sent a filing to SCOTUS asking them to both stay the lower court's decision in order to postpone the trial, as well as to take up the overall immunity issue. The court has several options for what they could do here, and most of them are not good for the country. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 730: No Immunity for Trump; Who will be VP for GOP?; Document Case Update

2/9/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! The DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a unanimous decision on Tuesday that Donald Trump does NOT have immunity from prosecution, and therefore the election subversion case against him can, and will, go to trial. But that doesn't mean that the immunity fight is over. Trump still has the option to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court, which has already been put into motion. But the Appeals Court's ruling might be written in a way that already bypasses the Supreme Court. During an interview with Fox News this week, Kellyanne Conway was asked about Donald Trump's potential vice presidential picks, and she may have let it slip who Trump is leaning towards. After rattling off a few names, Conway then focused in on Republican Senator Tim Scott, praising him for dropping out and actively campaigning for Trump before adding that he "checks all of the boxes." That's not really the case, but if Trump thinks so then he's likely made his pick already. Jack Smith spent 15 pages of a new court filing debunking the lies that Donald Trump has been telling about the charges against him in the documents case. Trump has claimed repeatedly - including in court filings - that he was allowed to take the documents and that he had been given special security clearances to do so. Smith argued that this actually never happened, and claimed that Trump's statements to the contrary were provably false. Jim Jordan's House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed Fulton County DA Fani Willis (again). This time, Jordan is seeking information about how Fulton County used a federal grant from the Department of Justice, as well as answers about an alleged whistleblower who claims that they were demoted after pointing out the misuse of federal funds by a district employee. Additionally, Willis came out over the weekend and admitted to having a romantic relationship with her fellow prosecutor. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 729:(M) Boebert is Looking at Fifth Place After Switching Districts; Immigration Idiocracy for Trump; OAN and Powell Have Shady Exchange

1/31/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! Lauren Boebert has a little over one month before the primary in Colorado for her new district, and things are off to a horrible start for her. A new straw poll taken after the first primary debate last week puts her squarely in fifth place, meaning she's actually doing worse in her new district than she was in her old district. The window of opportunity is closing on Boebert, but it should have closed years ago. Republicans are up in arms - almost quite literally - over illegal immigration, but they are still refusing to work out a border deal with Democrats in Congress. The biggest reason why a deal isn't happening is because Donald Trump is telling Republicans to shoot down any deal because it will help President Biden politically. If they solve the problem then they'll have nothing to campaign on, and that's a bigger threat than anything. The conservative outlet One America News may have given Trump lawyer Sidney Powell a spreadsheet that contained the login data for Smartmatic's voting systems. According to the defamation lawsuit that Smartmatic filed against One America, the network somehow obtained a spreadsheet containing the login data for certain employees, and they proceeded to hand it over to Sidney Powell (and possibly even to Mike Lindell, according to the suit.) And Republicans in the House had yet another witness testify that President Joe Biden was NOT involved in any way in any of his son's business deals, a statement that blows yet another hole in their efforts to impeach him. The Republican Party has consistently come up short with their impeachment effort to the point that even Republicans in the Senate are telling their House counterparts that this whole thing is a waste of time because they have no evidence of anything. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 728: Trump's VP Pick Revealed? DeSantis Ends Run; Trump Rants After New Hampshire Victory

1/25/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! The hunt for Donald Trump's running mate is on, and a former aide to the ex-president believes that Trump has already made up his mind. On a recent episode of The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin said that she believes he'll pick Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders as his running mate, even as speculation swirls around Elise Stefanik. Huckabee Sanders has proven herself to be a loyal Trump stooge, but she doesn't bring much else to the table. Ron DeSantis announced on Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race, and both the Left and the Right are thrilled about this announcement. Both sides came together in a rare moment of harmony to mock DeSantis for running one of the worst campaigns that we've seen in modern American politics. His fall from grace was truly a sight to behold. Even if Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis engaged in an improper relationship with a fellow prosecutor, most legal experts agree that it will have no actual impact on the criminal charges against Donald Trump or any of his co-defendants. That doesn't mean that the allegations and investigation aren't going to have an impact on the case - the experts also agree that this is likely going to cause delays and possibly even a change in venue and prosecutors, depending on the results of the investigation. At a recent campaign event in New Hampshire, Donald Trump confused the crowd by going on an awkward rant about forts. It wasn't just that he was off-topic, it was the fact that he literally kept repeating the same few sentences over and over again. This could be a symptom of something seriously wrong with the former president, especially in the context of all of his other recent mental flubs. The media needs to pay more attention to Trump's obvious cognitive decline. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 727: Iowa Results Leave Haley Delusional; DeSantis Fires Back at Right Wing Media

1/18/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! Ron DeSantis is no longer the darling of conservative media outlets, and he can't stand it. While speaking with reporters at an event last Friday, DeSantis whined about the fact that Fox News appears to be protecting Trump, and they are running cover for all of the horrible things that he does. Of course, DeSantis isn't actually wrong about his assessment of Fox and the rest of conservative media, but it is only bothering him because he wants that level of adoration again. Judge Aileen Cannon is still doing everything possible to protect Donald Trump, and late last week she ruled that Jack Smith can NOT get his hands on Trump's communications because it is way too early to make him declare what his legal defense is going to be. The trial is just months away according to the official timeline, but Cannon's ruling is a good indication that she is going to further delay the trial, possibly until after the 2024 election. It is one thing to put on a brave face after suffering a humiliating defeat, but it is another thing entirely to pretend that the defeat didn't happen. But that is exactly what Nikki Haley did after her pathetic third place finish in Iowa. Haley declared that the GOP primary was now officially a "two person race," but she doesn't seem to realize that she doesn't appear to be one of those two people. We finally found the massive voter fraud that Donald Trump has been whining about for over 3 years, but it isn't the kind of fraud that Trump wanted to see. A county in Virginia has revealed that they accidentally shorted President Biden thousands of votes and gave Donald Trump thousands of votes that he didn't actually receive. As we've said for years, voter fraud DOES exist but it typically benefits Republicans. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 726: Direct Ties to Trump for Fake Elector Scheme? Epstein List is Out; Boebert Tries to Win over New Constituents

1/11/2024
This week on Ring of Fire! The chances of Donald Trump being charged for the fake elector scheme in the state of Michigan are increasing, as investigators in the state have now directly tied Trump's campaign to the fake elector plot. In addition to the new links, Michigan prosecutors also have multiple Trump allies cooperating with their investigation, including three of Trump's former legal advisers: Kenneth Chesebro, Boris Epshteyn, and John Eastman. New Epstein documents were unsealed this week, and they contain some pretty shocking allegations about Donald Trump's activities with the victims of Epstein. According to one of the victims, another one of the victims had told her that she was involved in a sexual relationship with Trump, going as far as to describe some of the lewd compliments that he would give her during their encounters. These new revelations came after Alan Dershowitz asked for the documents to be unsealed so he could discredit the victim. A new audio tape has emerged that appears to show Donald Trump ally and political operative Roger Stone talking with a friend of his (who happened to be a police officer) about plans to assassinate Democratic lawmakers Jerrold Nadler and Eric Swalwell. He wasn't talking hypotheticals or fantasies, either: He specifically said that the time to act was NOW. Stone denies that the voice on the tape is his, claiming that it was generated by artificial intelligence. Lauren Boebert held her first event with the constituents of her new district this week, and she decided to open things up by addressing the elephant in the room: Her grotesque behavior at the Beetlejuice Musical a few months ago. But rather than trying to put it behind her, she thought it would be a good idea to make light of the situation and told a joke about it. This might work for someone in the entertainment industry, but for someone running for Congress is felt more like Boebert never learned a lesson from her behavior. During Tuesday's hearing on whether or not Donald Trump has "absolute immunity" from prosecution, his lawyer John Sauer was asked by a judge if immunity would prevent a President (like Trump) from being prosecuted for ordering the assassination of one of his political rivals. The lawyer, without even hesitating, said "YES" to that question. Sauer claimed that the only way a president could be criminally prosecuted is if they had been successfully convicted during an impeachment, but the judge didn't seem to buy that argument. How will Trump's idiot sons get by once daddy is no longer with us? Why is Tommy Tuberville still in the Senate when he doesn't even live in Alabama? Episode 724: Desantis Campaign on Life Support; Trump Spreading Conspiracies; Vivek Cancels TV Ad Buys

12/28/2023
This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump seems to have woken up panicked about being prosecuted on Wednesday morning, so he got on Truth Social and posted a string of conspiracy theories before demanding that he receive legal immunity from prosecution. The Supreme Court is eventually going to take up the issue, but not before the appellate court gives their decision in the coming weeks. Vivek Ramaswamy's presidential campaign has cancelled their TV ad buys and they don't have any ads planned for the coming weeks as the Republican primary voting begins. The campaign swears that this was always the plan so that they can remain "nimble," but the truth is that the campaign is going down in flames and the money just isn't rolling in anymore. Voters have already settled on their candidates, and Ramaswamy's charm wore off quicker than he expected. The Republican Party is ending the year 2023 in one of the worst financial situations that they have seen in modern times. The Party has about $7 million cash on hand (after debts are subtracted,) giving them about one-third of what the Democratic Party has on hand. This is all because Ronna McDaniel is such a horrible leader and has overseen some of the worst Republican fundraising and election results over the past 7 years. The latest polling out of New Hampshire shows that Nikki Haley is now within striking distance of Donald Trump, as she only trails him by 4 points. Could Haley pull an upset and actually win a few states? That possibility seems to be becoming more and more likely as Haley starts gobbling up support from the also-ran Republican candidates that are fading into oblivion. According to insiders close to Ron DeSantis and his campaign, the Florida governor is pretty much out of the presidential race at this point, and the campaign has entered what they are calling a "hospice mode" before he drops out. Everything went wrong for DeSantis from the moment he entered the race, and most of it has to do with the fact that he is just a grossly unlikable human being. Failures like that can't be overcome, and it will make it hard for him to serve his last two years as governor. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Episode 723: It's the Economy Stupid; Trump's Lawyer Seriously Confused; Huckabee Sanders Kicks Kids off of Medicaid

12/21/2023
This week on Ring of Fire! The Biden Campaign is going on the offensive on the economy, but they are doing it in a way that directly calls out Donald Trump. After a stronger-than-expected November jobs report, the Biden campaign touted the numbers and said that they are "cleaning up" the economic mess that they inherited from Trump. This is a strong, and accurate, message that the campaign needs to be hitting on as frequently as possible. During a recent appearance on Fox, Trump lawyer Alina Habba whined to host Larry Kudlow that she is "not free" because she is being "shackled" by the court's gag order. Both Habba and Kudlow complained about how this is a violation of her First Amendment rights, something that Habba, as a lawyer, knows is not true. Not to mention the fact that the order only says she can't attack court staffers, which has nothing to do with her ability to defend her client. Donald Trump traveled to Nevada a few days ago to hold a rally, and things took an immediate turn when he started whining about how the fake Trump electors in the state were being treated. Six fake electors in Nevada have been charged with felony counts for submitting fake documents to the government, and Trump told a crowd that this was somehow "unfair" treatment. He then went on to blame Biden for everything, even though it was Trump's scheme. Mark Meadows, the indicted former Chief of Staff to Donald Trump, lost in court again this week as he attempted to get his Georgia trial moved to the federal courts. This failure leaves Meadows with only one viable path to staying out of prison: Strike a plea deal and flip on Trump. But that won't be easy for him to do, as prosecutors have already suggested that a plea deal is not an option for him. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' first year as the governor of Arkansas has been a disaster by every possible measure. The inexperienced governor has been embroiled in several spending controversies, and the only thing she's done is pass bills targeting "woke" words and books. And now it has been revealed that she kicked over 78,000 kids off of Medicaid this year, even though thousands were still eligible for the health insurance program. Her father even knew better when he was governor, but the times have clearly changed. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire!

Episode 722: Trump Unhinged!; VP Rumors; Giuliani Trial Off to Bad Start

12/14/2023
This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump apparently woke up more unhinged than usual on Saturday morning, and he immediately got on Truth Social to let the world know that he is not doing well at all. But it was a post that he didn't write that made everyone scratch their heads. Trump re-posted a message from a conservative lawyer that suggested that President Obama should be indicted for murder (because a court recently ruled against Trump saying that presidents don't have immunity for life.) We can probably expect this to be the new rallying cry for conservatives. Donald Trump's niece, Mary Trump, has accused Marjorie Taylor Greene of trying to bribe Donald Trump into making her his VP choice next year. Specifically, Mary says that a recent social media post by Greene was an attempt to show Donald that she will do whatever he wants her to do if she is chosen for the vice presidential slot on the ticket, and she did so by promising to protect, and likely pardon, the convicted Capitol Rioters. Donald Trump's mental screwups are becoming so common and noticeable that even some of his former allies can't ignore them. During a recent segment, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly admitted that Trump isn't as "sharp" as he used to be, pointing out his constant blunders and inability to keep a train of thought on track. The Biden administration is also trying to capitalize on Trump's mental hiccups, painting him as the one who is out of touch and not stable enough to serve in office. Republicans in the House are moving their impeachment inquiry into President Biden forward this week, with a vote expected that would make the inquiry "official," allowing members to get their hands on more "evidence." The only problem is that they've been investigating Biden for 12 months and have been told repeatedly that there is no link between Biden and any criminal activity. To make things worse, Republicans are now telling the press that they expect this move to backfire on them, but they are still going forward anyway. And Rudy Giuliani's defamation lawsuit trial got off to a horrific start for him, as the judge demanded to know why he kept smearing the two election workers even after he had been found liable in a summary judgement for defamation. His lawyer did his best to excuse these actions, but the argument fell flat. The lawyer tried to claim that Giuliani's advanced age is to blame for his comments, and the judge didn't buy that for a second. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire!

Episode 721: Trump Has Reasons for Supporting Capitol Rioters; MTG Called Out Over PPP Loan; Trump's L's in Court

12/8/2023
This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump is back to pretending that he cares about the Capitol Rioters, and he shared a post from another user on his Truth Social platform that called for the arrests of police officers that violently engaged with his supporters during the riot. The post contained a video clip of officers using batons to strike the people storming the Capitol and made mention of Ashli Babbit being killed by a police officer. There's a very specific reason why Trump is going down this path right at this moment, and we'll explain why that is. During a House hearing late last week, Marjorie Taylor Greene got called out by Democratic Representative Maxine Waters for taking out a PPP Loan and having it forgiven by the federal government. Waters was using that as an example of the hypocrisy of Republicans who talk nonstop about cutting programs for the poor while taking money for themselves. Greene was livid, and she took to Twitter to blast Waters using the dumbest possible arguments you could have dreamed up. Donald Trump suffered two devastating legal blows on Friday evening, when Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed BOTH of his motions to dismiss the charges against him for trying to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump's lawyers had offered weak arguments claiming that the case violated Trump's Constitutional rights, and Chutkan wasted no time letting his legal team know that arguments like this aren't going to make it far. House Oversight Committee chair James Comer accidentally admitted that evidence doesn't matter in the impeachment inquiry of President Biden during a recent appearance on Fox News. Comer said that moderate Republicans in the House are now warming up to the idea of impeachment because they all, apparently, met voters at places like Walmart over the Thanksgiving break, and all of those voters apparently said that impeaching Biden is the most important thing in the world. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire!
