For years, they were known only by nicknames—Peaches and Baby Doe. A woman and her toddler, found miles apart in Long Island, unidentified and unnamed. But investigators never gave up hope. They believed that science would one day provide the answers they needed. And now, it has. This episode shares the story of Tanya Jackson and Tatiana Dykes—their lives, their loss, and the long fight to return their names to them. Barbara Ann Bockwith was just 20 years old when she vanished from her college campus in Pensacola, Florida.The University of West Florida student arrived early for her final exam, exhausted after an all-night study session. Realizing she’d left her notes in the car, she rushed out to retrieve them—just ten minutes before class. She never returned. In this episode, we trace Barbara’s final known steps, the details of her sudden disappearance, and ask how someone can go missing in broad daylight on a college campus. Nearly 50 years later, her case remains unsolved. 📖 Featuring a special guest reading by actress Julia Reilly. Julia is an actress born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She plays Dani Miller on Great American Family's first original series, 'County Rescue' and recently played Amy March in the GAF film, 'A Little Women's Christmas.' Masumi was flourishing—gaining confidence, exploring new routines, and settling into life abroad. Then, just a week before she was set to return home, Masumi vanished. In this episode, we look at the disappearance and murder of Masumi Watanabe on the island of Oahu, and the community's long search for answers. We explore the troubling background of the man arrested for her death, what could have been prevented, and the lasting impact Masumi’s story has had in Hawaii and beyond. 📖 Featuring a special guest reading by actress Erika Prevost. A College Student, a Jane Doe, and a Decade of Unsolved Violence In 1972, Jeanette Kamahele left her home near Santa Rosa Junior College and never made it to class. She was last seen hitchhiking near a freeway onramp. In the years that followed, the region became synonymous with violence: multiple young women, many of them hitchhikers, were found murdered in rural areas across Sonoma County and they became known collectively as the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders. By 1979, hikers stumbled upon a skeleton near Calistoga Road. The woman had no name, no clear identity—only theories. Could this be Jeanette? And were their cases connected? Some believe these women were victims of the same person. Others speculate about a possible link to the infamous Zodiac Killer. Law enforcement has questioned multiple suspects, including a well-known serial predator based in the Pacific Northwest. But decades later, justice remains elusive. On April 24th, 1994, police respond to a call at a bar in Bangor, Maine. Outside they find Virginia Pictou-Noyes who claims her husband and brother-in-law had just beat her outside the bar. With her husband under arrest and her brother-in-law charged in the assault, Virginia is taken to an area hospital for her injuries. There, around 1am, she quietly slips out of the hospital. The last she is seen is heading north through the parking lot. Her husband tells everyone that Virginia has run away from home, but her family believes differently. Actress Althea Sam is a Member of the Dine Nation(Navajo Nation), which is considered one of the largest sovereign tribes in the United States. She was born on the Dine Reservation in Tuba City, AZ. September 1934, a 21-year-old newlywed, Olga Schultz Mauger, heads to Togwotee Pass in Wyoming to hunt elk on her honeymoon with her new husband. He says he last saw her sitting on a boulder in the mountains when they stopped to rest. Then, she simply vanished. Now, 90 years later, Olga is considered Wyoming’s oldest known missing persons case. This week we’re joined by Susan Ruttan. Known for her role for her role of ‘Roxanne’ on the acclaimed “L.A. Law”, for which she was nominated for Emmys on four consecutive seasons, she has seamlessly moved between television, stage and film through her career. She has many memorable television appearances on shows like “Bosom Buddies”, “Newhart”, “Grey’s Anatomy” “Mom” and most recently a recurring role on the Netflix hit series, “A Man on the Inside” starring Ted Danson”. She teamed with Brian Dennehy and Treat Williams in several NBC ‘Jack Reed’ movies for television. Other television movie roles included “Helter Skelter”, “Terror in the Towers”, a recounting of the 1993 terrorist bombing under the World Trade Towers in Manhattan and was ‘Mrs. Claus’ in “The Ultimate Christmas Present” for the Disney Channel. Susan has appeared in the feature films: “The Sure Hand of God”, “Love Kills”, “Honky Tonk Freeway”, “Independence Day”, and portrayed Gene Wilder’s stepmother in Paramount’s “Funny About Love”. Born in Oregon, she started her career as a costume designer in the theatre in Santa Cruz, then moved to Los Angeles and worked as an assistant casting director At Universal and Paramount before landing her first professional acting job.
