“Creating a nation that values and includes all people with mental illness” the vision for Like Minds Like Mine Project. This show is hosted by people who have lived experience of mental illness. Our show “Fighting Stigma with Kelz and Jax” is a radio show for the mental health sector, we want to make a difference in our communities by breaking down the barriers of discrimination stigma for people with lived experience of mental illness and their family whanau members. We want to share our journeys with our listeners every week. One of the greatest barriers to recovery is discrimination; we want to change people’s attitudes and behaviour by using our radio show. We focus on the main three mental illnesses, Schizophrenia, Bipolar and Depression. Our information is researched weekly to give our listeners a better view of mental illness. We provide holistic approach towards one’s recovery journey and have a range of guest speaker who support and promote the Like Minds Like Mine Project.
