Jonathan will be discussing these amazing affects with special guest Allen Anderson, author of A Dog Named Leaf. Today on Human Behavior…What a Trip, Dr. Brower will be interviewing author and professional Psychologist Susan Tschudi regarding Family and Marriage Therapy and understanding family members with ADD. Susan Tschudi is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Westlake Village, CA. Susan received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Psychology with Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She is an adjunct faculty member in the graduate psychology department at Pepperdine University. Today on Human Behavior…What a Trip, Jonathan will be interviewing Tim Kanter who will be discussing the healing power of humor and his life experiences. Tim Kanter, Co-Creative Director for Clean Up Comedy along with Jeremy Zeller has been writing, directing, performing on stage since 1993 and Jeremy having been performing comedy since high school. Tim Kanter and Jeremy have traveled across the country performing for children and adults who need a good laugh. They performed free shows at children's hospitals, youth homes and homeless shelters. Overall, they traveled over 3000 miles, through 8 states, at 14 different locations, for 100’s of men, women, and children looking to enlighten and inspire using humor. Dr. Jonathan Brower will be addressing Domestic Violence and related issues on this week’s program with guest Dr. Michael Levittan. Dr. Michael specializes in treating Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Anger management, Domestic violence, Child Abuse,, and Spousal Abuse in the greater Los Angeles area. He is also a Media Psychologist and Expert Witness. Dr. Michael believes that being a psychotherapist is both an honor and privilege that must be nurtured and cherished. He states: “Patients, couples, and group members show tremendous courage in revealing their personal struggles, shameful feelings, heaviest burdens, darkest secrets, and wishful longings to me. Today Dr. Jonathan Brower will be discussing Manners & Etiquette and their effects in our society with his guest Robyn Jackson Director of the Civility School. As the world changes and evolves there are some things that remain constant for progressive society that involves how we communicate with one another. Manners, Etiquette, and Diplomacy convey respect and garner respect which create a mutually beneficial relationships. Often, our first impressions are the lasting ones and it’s important we start with using our manners. Robyn is the director of The Civility School, which offers children, teens, and adults a unique combination of social skills training and modern etiquette instruction not found in other programs. Instead of only teaching rote rules of good manners, Robyn encourages participants to strengthen their powers of empathy, which allows them to understand their effect on others and to also become a more engaging peer, family member, and/or employee. This, combined with etiquette and social skills instruction, provides the participants with a broader and deeper set of skills, which is more easily transferrable to a variety of situations and cultures.

Steven Schlah

Like so many everyday Americans, Jonathan’s guest today, Steven Schlah is anything but ordinary. Stevens life is filled with unique stories and experiences. Listen as Jonathan and Steven discuss his life and thoughts on “Human Behavior…What a Trip”. Steven Schlah was born on March 23, 1946 in So. Pasadena, CA. He was later adopted in August of '46, to Norman and Virginia Schlah and grew up in the Los Angeles, Inglewood, and Santa Barbara area. Steven dropped out of college and volunteered for service in the army but was denied due to medical reasons. Ironically 6 months later was drafted to serve in Vietnam where he worked on aircraft and as a Public Information Specialist. After being Honorably Discharged from the Army, he continued his education receiving his degree from UCSB in History and Political Science and also having completed the ROTC program. Steven decided not to pursue a career as an officer instead he elected to aid fellow veterans find employment through his position at the National Alliance of Business. “Jobs for Vets” program. Steven also aided in establishing self-help programs to aid veterans with PTSD. Steven has always found himself politically active and socially involved. Having both served and later protested the Vietnam war with friends like Ron Kovic (“Born on the 4th of July”). Steven shares his unique perspective having lost 13 of his high school classmates in the war and experiencing the “Survivor Guilt” from his time serving. He also had the pleasure of speaking with Ronald Reagan during the Republican Nomination Convention at his hotel. Later Steven would be encouraged to volunteer as a “reading tutor” which lead him to go back to school to become a teacher of Social Studies and has spent 18 years studying Ancient Egypt. He has also dealt with the challenge of researching his own biological family and was able to locate and make contact with his birthmother which coincidentally worked on aircraft as well (“Rosie the Riveter”) during WWII. Steven has also performed as a lead singer and performed with recognized Rock N Roll groups. Steven is one of Americas own.
