Sounds of Swing was the first live show to air from the new studios in the FSU Broadcast Center in 1983.n 1978, Jim Chion contacted The Public Radio Center with his idea for a jazz program called Sounds of Swing. Proving to be knowledgeable about both jazz and broadcasting, Chion went on the air and within the first year his ratings tripled and the program still has a large following.
