Commonwealth Financial Group was founded in February of 1997 by a group of financial advisors who wanted to offer unbiased advice to their clients. The purpose was to provide independent financial products and services without any outside or proprietary influence. Commonwealth Financial Group is not owned by any bank or insurance company. However, in order to maintain our independence, we still hold FINRA and SIPC protections through our broker dealer; Cadaret Grant and Co. This allows our clients to carry the same protections as other financial institutions.
