The Promise
We've been waiting a long time for Jesus to come. However long it takes, when He comes it will be more than worth the wait, more than worth anything and everything we have ever had to suffer through here because we have the promise that one day He "shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:4, KJV). And that will not be, friend, just a...

When Lightning Strikes
The great and wonderful promise of Jesus, in His roles as our King and Judge at the Second Coming, is that this evil and pain and suffering will not go on and on forever. No, it will end! That's the great hope and promise we have in Jesus Christ. It will end because He, Jesus, will end it once and for all when He returns. That's what the Second Coming is all about: Jesus bringing an end to the woe and suffering that has been ravaging our planet for thousands of years.

Life More Abundantly
No matter who you are, or what you have done, there is forgiveness at the foot of the cross. There really is. Jesus taught us to forgive others because God forgives us. Right now, you can-no matter how seedy your past-know that God forgives your sin. He will wipe the slate clean. You can stand before Him, knowing that you are accepted, not because you are good enough but because Jesus is good enough, and God accepts your through Him.

The Greatest Commandment
It's a loud, noisy world out there, a lot of competing voices pulling you in all directions. Amid it all, there's another voice, the voice of Jesus, who is speaking to you, and He's saying, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15, KJV). Will you listen to that voice today and obey it?

No Fine Print
Jesus offers us something so much better, so much more stable, so much more secure. Jesus is saying to us, Build on Me. Build on the only foundation that will not crumble when everything else comes tumbling down around you. And He's saying that the only way we can do that is by obeying Him, by doing the things He asks us to do.

As Dead As Dead Can Be
Jesus on the last day, the day of His return, will raise the dead, just as He Himself had been raised from the dead. What a great hope we have, don't you think? Sure, Jesus died, but the grave didn't hold Him. And the great news of salvation is that just as the grave didn't hold Him, it doesn't have to hold us. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead has the same power to raise each of us as well.

The Man Jesus
No matter how good, or honest, or kind, or nice you've tried to be, the life you've lived in your own humanity just isn't good enough. It will never be good enough. But the wonderful news of the gospel, the best news I know of, is the life that Jesus Himself lived in our humanity, that life, and only that life, was good enough, and God offers it to you, a gift--yours to claim by faith.

The Jesus Imperative
Jesus did what he had to do to provide salvation for all who will freely receive it by faith. But why did He have to do it? Why couldn't He just stay in heaven and let us try to solve our own problems? The answer is simple. He had to do it because He loves us!
