Fake Authors Using AI: Exposing Fake Authorship in the Age of AI

8/9/2025
Are you concerned about how artificial intelligence is reshaping what it means to be an author? In this episode of the Wait What Really OK, Brand Communications and Optics Podcast, I share my take on the growing trend of fake authors using AI to make false books. Fake authority is on the rise. Across social media, ads push quick hit book creation tools promising instant authorship, often marketed as the next big trend for professionals. But does a two minute prompt and an AI driven script make someone a genuine author? Or is it just deception dressed as expertise? If your values are grounded in honorable business practices, transparency, and true authority, this may be a trend to skip and avoid. As a Brand Communications and Optics Strategist, I specialize in honest and transparent brand communications by helping leaders build credible, honest, and strong foundations for their messaging. It is also why I am very much against this trend and how fake authors using Ai only reinforces the weakness of their brands. This episode examines some of the shortcuts many are taking. It highlights how quick AI courses, fake books, and copycat content not only undermine personal credibility but can also pollute the trust that clients, teams, and industries work so hard to build. I share about the practical differences between using AI as an assistant and abusing it as a shortcut. I also discuss certain AI tools that can support your editing, organizing, and compliance, while making clear the line between authentic content creation and manufactured authority. And I explore this issue from a few different angles, keeping the focus on transparency, strategic communications, and long term credibility. From this episode, you may find it to just be a rant or you may walk away understanding some of the red flags of fake authorship, how to vet books and online courses, and ways to set yourself apart with truth and professional clarity in your field. No empty hype. Just real world perspective for real experts choosing honor over shortcuts in a world that tempts the opposite.

Planning a Brand Strategy Blueprint for Your Book: Steps for Real Authority

6/5/2025
Start your book the right way with a brand strategy blueprint. In this episode of the Wait What Really OK, Brand Communications and Optics Podcast, I break down what it means to plan your book with purpose and clarity. Many people rush to write a book for the wrong reasons. Some want to look like an authority. Some use AI or quick prompts to get it done fast. But if you want your story to stand out and build real credibility, you need a strong foundation. I share some practical steps for authors and professionals who value transparency, authority, and longterm stability. I talk about the risks of shortcuts, self-publishing scams, and the truth behind the “Amazon bestseller” label. I explain why building a brand strategy blueprint for your book matters as much as the writing itself. This episode covers publishing options, the importance of chapter titles, and how to protect your intellectual property from the start. You’ll hear how to use your book to support speaking, consulting, and other services. I walk through my own experiences with self-publishing, hybrid publishing, and working with major publishers. I show how planning your book’s brand strategy blueprint early can help you reach your audience, build trust, and set yourself apart in a crowded market. If you want to make your book part of a bigger message, this episode may be for you. I focus on actionable insights for professionals and businesses who care about honorable business practices. I talk about outlining, titling, and marketing your book before it’s even finished. I also touch on the value of your own quotes, building your online presence, and protecting your work with smart contracts and legal reviews. #brandstrategy #bookpublishing #authenticity #businessgrowth #authorbranding #publishingtips #professionalbranding #longtermstrategy #brandcommunications #bookmarketing

Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG. How we use AI.

2/8/2023
Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG. How we use AI is the title of S.09 E.07 n.140 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. In the wild west of new AI or artificial intelligence applications that are showing up more and more these days. It has become even more of a thing, while being around for years and year… but perhaps not as known to much of the public. To me, the positive side of Artificial Intelligence or AI shows itself in automation options and wonderful elements that can simplify certain types of work, research and intelligence gathering and organizing. These tools can be very useful for businesses at all levels and all sizes. Now on the dark side of AI or how I see the dark side of artificial intelligence if you will, those that are using it to create content or creating words, audios, videos and images that are not from your knowledge, wisdom, or experience can set a bad standard. And in the end, it is good to vet, do your due diligence and see if they have the professionalism or are pretending to know what they don’t. And that is the Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG. How we use AI title came from. Our Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG is this… At FSG, from Fish Stewarding Group including every branch of FSG and all related sites and content online and off, we only use Artificial Intelligence for automation, audio mixing, video mixing, simple image enhancement, organization and acquisition of intelligence and authority sources. We do no use AI to create content, falsify images or shift any kind of content to dramatically alter, edit or change what is seen, heard or written online or off. * Loren Weisman is the FSG messaging and optics strategist for the Fish Stewarding Group.* Weisman is also the host of the FSG messaging and optics podcast; Wait What Really OK. What is a messaging and optics strategist?

1/2/2023
What is a messaging and optics strategist? is the title of S.09 E.06 n.139 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. In short, my definition of a messaging and optics strategist is an individual that looks at the foundational, stability, security and marketing elements a brand, product, business or story. This focuses on the authenticity, authority, optics, psychology and perceptions of a brand, persona or product. It is a person that looks to serve as a unbiased third party to help with a discovery that includes a research analysis of patterns, similarities, differences, tones, tempos and temperatures of what is in place, what is required before marketing and what is missing. This can include interviews asking if in the communication, messaging and optics from both an online and offline standpoint as well as helping to present a messaging performance outline for the business, the product, the service or person. With this information, as well as a discovery and research into a series of other elements, a blueprint can be built to allow for the strongest foundation of a message. From there, the marketing, promotion and publicity can amplify a less time consuming approach that can also save marketing dollars as well. There is a lot more to answer the questions What is a messaging and optics strategist, but the above is an overview and this podcast brings up the points to consider and how correctly organizing your messaging and your optics can help in many ways. Amazon best selling book claims and the 16,000 book categories

8/30/2022
Amazon best selling book claims and the 16,000 book categories is the title of S.09 E.04 n.137 of the FSG Brand Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. Does it ever seem like there are way too many authors claiming to be best sellers of books you’ve never heard of” Have you noticed that some of these authors will spend a lot of time promoting a ranking but seem to have no skill win promoting the book it self? Also, have you noticed when you search how to become an Amazon best seller, there are hundreds of services that will guarantee a momentary ranking so you can claim to have an Amazon Best selling book, but none of these seem to be selling all that many books? And have you noticed that some of the ebook rankings are actually referring to free downloads over actual sales? Did you know authors can buy reviews? And are you aware there are 16000 book categories on Amazon? And that some book promotion companies will advise you to list in a sub category with very few books just to be able to move a few books and claim to be a best seller. Add to this how the term best seller and the optics around it is starting to create more questions in many than ever before. I find this to be a problem and at the same time it can take away from the authority and authenticity of genuine best sellers. I believe it is time to focus on creating a book if you have a book in you and not writing a book to seem like you are an authority. “Publishing a book does not make you and authority or an expert. Authorship does not equal authority.” And would you openly share you had a company write a book for you, someone from your team or an AI system to create a book? I believe if you do not have a book in you, dont write one. I believe if you do have a book in you, consider promoting it with authentic, authoritative content and messaging that highlights the book beyond its ranking. I believe connecting with a publisher or editor if you are self publishing... consider looking for the guidance to set a solid foundation of truth with your book and not just focus on Consider honoring your audience by sharing pieces of the book and elements that supplement what is there from quotes, to videos to audios to images. This over sharing rankings. And if you have a genuine best seller, consider the tactics of a more authentic promotion since so many out there are making false claims that can create a perception that you are even if you aren't. Consider grounding yourself and your book in honest, moral and authentic strategies and tactics to promote your book over using false hype, false pretenses and false numbers. Amazon best selling book claims and the 16,000 book categories is the title of S.09 E.04 n.137 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK. More coaches on the sidelines than players on the field.

6/13/2022
More coaches on the sidelines than players on the field is the title of S.09 E.03 n.136 of the FSG Brand Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK. Lately, it feels like We have more coaches on the sidelines than players on the field. When it comes to coaches though, consider asking yourself... Are they supporting, strengthening, grounding and proving they have: the Authenticity and Authority... the Practices and Posture... the Stability and Security... the experience and education... the Humility and the honesty... Along with the intelligence and strategies for you to learn, maintain and sustain your efforts and growth after you are not working with them anymore? Or are they only marketing with foolish promises, false hype and empty claims? Be careful. Vet and double check in to any and every coach or program. Loren discusses some of the areas to look at online and off including... Their accountability and humility Their experience and authority Their contracts and terms... Their authentic ability... Their marketing... Their popularity... Their promises.. Their honor... As well as where they came from, people they have worked with and the legitimacy of their abilities and their Books Videos Quotes Courses Content Certifications And claims... And is it all from boiler plate templates and marketing or from them? And if they are able to help anyone at any stage, isn't that a little scary? Sharing opinions instead of trying to state facts may help.

11/5/2021
Sharing opinions instead of trying to state facts may help is the title of S.09 E.02 n.135 of the FSG Brand Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK. In the times we are in, from the emotional to the psychological to the professional, moving to a foundation of opinion based engagement may help to connect over shouting facts. Especially when so many are choosing to present opinions as facts. In considering not only your intention, but also all that your messaging and content could be perceived as, it may help to expand your reach in a more authentic way over the pressure and pushing of many others. Taking the extra moment to pause and look at the content on a web page to the messaging in a video, to the presentation and differentiation of facts and opinions in a podcast may be a way to stand out and disarm some that might at first perceive you to be another voice that is only selling. This ties in to compliance online too. In the lack of making claims, promises and presenting statements or facts that can be quickly and easily countered, debated or proven wrong, the voice of opinion becomes a lesser liability for web and social too. In authenticity and authority as well as humility and transparency, the presentation and engagement of opinions over stating and screaming facts… with many that might be able to be contradicted, could allow for a greater reach and a greater connection with your existing audience as well as new people too. 2/11/2021
Exploring and engaging autism with Doctor Todd Peter Levine is the topic and touch point for s8. E8. n131. of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK. Todd is amplifying the stories and experiences of autism through an engaging format. Dr. Todd Peter Levine is the host of a new podcast called the Otherness Podcast. The show is exploring and engaging autism through experienced stories. Todd joins me on this episode to talk about his approach to sharing stories and creating a show that is less about the statements that try to set put autism in a box and is shifting amplifying the stories and experiences with a respect and an engagement I have not seen elsewhere. His authority mixed with his humility and his passion to learn as much as he shares brings a different tone to autism. His approach to move to stories and bring a greater understanding as a whole over trying to solve it or heal it also is one more aspect that makes Todd and the otherness Podcast stand out. The Otherness Podcast is exploring and engaging autism through experienced stories with Dr. Todd Peter Levine and will be available on most places and sites where you like to listen to podcasts. Amplified authentic opinions and intelligence to consider.

1/11/2021
Amplified authentic opinions and intelligence to consider is the topic and touch point for s8. E7. n130. of the FSG messaging and optics podcast, Wait What Really OK. From the fixed focus groups to the ability to vote as much and as often as you like, the authentic voice and authentic opinion has trouble shining through. From artificial intelligence delivering data that can be artificially altered to the opinions of a paid influencer, we are missing out on authentic opinions from real people to understand the authority in what people are feeling, over the popularity of what people are being told people are feeling. Some of the issues are in communication. We see individuals sharing op-eds. One sided views of opinions that are placed in to editorial format instead of learning the Op Agg story… the aggregation of authentic opinions collected for the authority data that it could provide. Art, like music, like food is opinion. It is subjective and while there are popular opinions, a great deal of that popularity has been falsely bought. Then presented as intelligence that isn’t true. When we consider honoring opinions authentically and take them into account instead of only counting for popularity through an organized aggregator of authentic opinion, the data and intelligence can be more beneficial for everyone. If we can take the time and put in the efforts to amplify the authentic opinions and apply those results and intelligence across the board, everyone from the consumer to the companies behind a song, an artist, a product or a service, we might have a better chance of understanding what choices to make based on better intelligence.
