A series of stories by novelist Chris Paling, in which the music plays as important a role as the words. Episode 1: The Piano Player Does Not Do Requests. Snow falls on the village pub. A stranger walks in and orders a whisky. Slowly, hesitantly, he tells his strange story to the landlord - a tale of a fortune being made and the woman he made it for. Occasionally he breaks off to listen to the piano being played in the room next door. But will he ever know how important the music is to the story of his life?
