Navigating Christian Book Month and Public Libraries | 277

4/2/2024
We are so excited for today's episode of the TTD podcast. We have a special guest joining us to explore a thought-provoking topic: Christian Book Month and reclaiming our public libraries. Have you ever wondered how our public library system reached its current state? More importantly, what can Christians do to make a meaningful impact within these community institutions? Joining us today is Korrie Johnson, the founder of Good Book Mom. Since 2019, Korrie has been on a mission to discover books that resonate with both adults and children, all through the lens of a Biblical Christian worldview. Today, we delve into how we can engage with Christian Book Month and take back our public libraries, shaping them into spaces that align with our faith and values. Takeaways:Christian Book Month promotes good books written by Christians and encourages believers to engage with public libraries. Public libraries face challenges due to the liberal bias of the American Library Association (ALA) and the lack of Christian librarians. Building relationships with librarians and requesting Christian books can help promote the presence of Christian literature in libraries. Checking out books and engaging with libraries beyond April is essential to support Christian literature and be a positive influence in the community. Meet the Guest:Korrie Johnson started Good Book Mom in 2019 with the goal of finding books that both you and the children in your life will love, filtering everything through a Biblical Chrisitan Worldview.Additional Resources:Find out more about Christian Book Month and Good Book Mom HERE We hope that through today’s episode you will find the great benefit for you and your family to attend a Teach Them Diligently Convention. Unveiling Noah’s Flood: A Journey Through Evidence and Revelation | 272

3/14/2024

Dr. Biddle shares insights into their ministry's focus on creating visually compelling content to reach today's youth immersed in digital media. He emphasizes the importance of providing solid, factual answers to questions about creation and evolution, particularly for students hungry for truth in a culture often skeptical of biblical accounts. The conversation delves into the significance of Genesis, specifically Noah's Flood, exploring its historical and theological implications. Dr. Biddle passionately connects the Flood narrative to modern-day events, echoing Jesus' warnings of a coming judgment akin to the days of Noah. Their forthcoming film promises to blend stunning visuals with a clear gospel message, inviting audiences to consider profound truths about creation, the Flood, and the future. With a commitment to making truth accessible, the film aims to spark conversations and deepen understanding among viewers of all ages. Meet The Guest:Daniel A. Biddle, Ph.D. is the President of Genesis Apologetics, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to training youth pastors, parents, and students about Genesis, Creation, and the Flood. Finding Freedom, Not Friction: Strategies for a Sustainable and Joyful Homeschool | 268

2/22/2024
Welcome to the Teach Them Diligently Podcast, where we delve into homeschooling and how parents can lead their family well through homeschooling. Join us as Amy Roberts of Raising Arrows shares her practical and encouraging advice on all things related to large family homemaking and homeschooling. From striking the delicate balance between teaching multiple ages to managing a bustling household, Amy brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the table. Through her popular blog, podcast, and YouTube channel, she has become a guiding light for families embarking on the homeschooling journey. Get ready for insightful conversations, practical tips, and a touch of homestead harmony as we explore the joys and challenges of homeschooling in a large family setting. Key Takeaways:Authentic Faith over Rules: Amy emphasizes the importance of moving away from rigid rule-following in parenting and homeschooling. Rather than relying on strict methods, she advocates for a faith-filled, day-by-day walk with Christ. Building Relationships: Parents should focus on building strong, deep relationships with their children. This includes being vulnerable about their own shortcomings and pointing their kids to Christ's love, grace, and mercy. Avoiding Arrogance: Amy warns against the dangers of parental arrogance, where families may look down on others or create a hierarchy of faith based on rules. Instead, humility and a focus on Christ should guide interactions with fellow believers. Preparation for the Real World: Parents should prepare their children for the realities of the world outside the homeschooling bubble. Sheltering kids too much can lead to difficulties when they are launched into adulthood without a solid understanding of the world around them. Restoration Over Condemnation: When children stumble or make mistakes, the goal should always be restoration, not condemnation. Parents should strive to be like Christ in offering love, grace, and forgiveness. Unique Family Dynamics: Each family is unique, and parents should appreciate the individual giftings and leadership styles of their spouses. Comparing one's family to others can lead to dissatisfaction and missed opportunities to embrace God's plan for their specific familyThis Discussion Covers:Moving Away from Rules to Authentic Faith Building Strong Relationships Avoiding Parental Arrogance Preparing Children for the Real World Appreciating Unique Family DynamicsAdditional Resources:Learn more about Amy Roberts and the Raising Arrows Podcast Join us for a Teach Them Diligently event in May.
