5: Happy Shakespeare Day!

4/23/2020
Happy Shakespeare Day! To celebrate the great man himself, members of The Watermill Theatre's cast of Hamlet along with co-director Abigail Pickard Price have recorded this very special episode. Shakespeare’s work has been at the heart of The Watermill’s programme for many years. The acclaimed and innovative company Propeller took their work from the theatre's rural home in Berkshire out across the world, and in 2017 The Watermill Ensemble was born, a company of young actors who, up until recently, have always created work with a 50:50 gender split. The Watermill's all-female Hamlet, which was sadly cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus, was set to be the Ensemble's boldest production to date and we’re delighted to have brought together some of the cast to perform their favourite speeches from a selection of Shakespeare’s plays for you. Sheepdrove are Prinicpal Sponsor of Hamlet and have been long-standing supporters of Shakespeare at The Watermill Theatre.
