Army Veteran George Eshleman and THE KEEPER - 6-6-2024

THE KEEPER shines a light on the pressing issue of veteran suicide. The film is based on the true story of one Army veteran, George Eshleman, who challenged by his own demons and searching for answers, set out to hike the entire Appalachian Trail while carrying 363 military name tapes from military members who committed suicide. Hiking the Appalachian Trail was no trivial undertaking as even for experienced hikers, of which George was not one, can take up to seven months. Army veteran George Eshleman joined MIke Pomp on the Morning Information Center to chat about the experience and the new movie THE KEEPER.

British actor/singer/producer Matthew Marsden began his acting career in the UK and rose to stardom from his role in the long-running TV series Coronation Street. He has left the show to pursue a music and acting career in the U.S. and hasn't looked back. Since moving to the U.S., Marsden has been working successfully on feature films, television and music. He starred in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down and he was the lead in USA's epic film Helen of Troy. " Waitress" is a celebration of resilience, friendship and finding the courage to follow your dreams. Actress Desi Oakley plays the lead character Jenna,a pie maker, who finds herself trapped in an unhappy marriage. NH Governor Chris Sununu on Protests at NH colleges 5-2-2024

Police say 12 people were arrested last evening on the University of New Hampshire campus in Durham after pro-Palestinian demonstrations were held. Of those arrested, 10 were students and two were not affiliated with the University. At Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, about 90 people were arrested by police during similar demonstrations. NH Governor Chris Sununu is calling pro-Palestine protests taking place at the colleges pure anti-semitism. The Governor says New Hampshire is ready to respond should any situation on campus escalate to the point where public safety is at risk. Governor Sununu joined Mike Pomp on the Morning Information Center to discuss the situations at the local schools.

Don't Trash Dover and the City of Dover are sponsoring "Power of an Hour," a one-hour volunteer litter collection event organized by ward on Saturday, April 27, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Residents are encouraged to arrive at their ward's designated meeting location by 9:15 a.m. wearing a safety vest or bright clothing, gloves and closed-toe shoes. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Bags will be provided. For one hour, volunteers will pick up litter in their ward, being mindful of private property and safety.
