In May 1971, with a partnership of family and friends, Stuart Smith bought the ‘terroir’ which today is Smith-Madrone Vineyards & winery high on Spring Mountain. brbr Smith-Madrone remains a true craft producer, making only 4,000 cases of estate wine annually. The vineyards produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Riesling. brbr A visit to Smith-Madrone is a step back in time to the Napa Valley of the 1980's when the experience was much more personal and homespun.
