KUWS is a co-curricular activity of the Communicating Arts Department at UW-Superior. Our studios and office are located on the third floor (room 3160) of the Holden Fine Arts Center on the campus of UW-Superior. KUWS broadcasts talk programming from the Ideas Network of Wisconsin Public Radio, in addition to student-produced music programs such as "91 Jazz Street" and "The Dean's List," and public affairs programs such as "Final Edition." KUWS is the home of UW-Superior Yellowjacket Hockey and Basketball. We broadcast at a power of 83,000 watts from an antenna on Duluth's hill. Here's a map of our coverage area. More technical information is available here. Our studios are also home to 89.9 WHSA, transmitting from Brule. WHSA broadcasts Wisconsin Public Radio's NPR News and Classical Music network.
