It was launched in 2021 by Olney Culture Lab, in collaboration with Amber Art & Design. It aims to bring community voices to the table, highlight cultural expressions and examine what makes the neighborhood unique in its history and current beauty and complexity. The current season is hosted by Linda Fernandez and Keir Johnston; music & sound design by June Lopez; research and writing by Ambrose Liu. Episodes in season one were written by Malcolm Burnley.

Ellen co-founded the Folk Arts Cultural Treasures Charter School while at Asian Americans United; Rev. Roger was on the Board of Esperanza Academy Charter High School at its inception and continues to be involved with them as well as ASPIRA's schools including Olney High School.
