In this episode, host Madam Neverstop engages in a deep conversation with Blacqwildflowr, an award-winning poet and performance etiquette instructor. Blacqwildflowr recently traveled from the US to Denmark to participate in the Nature & Culture: International Poetry Film Festival, where she joined us with her poem in the film Vibrant, directed by Dev Thompson. In Vibrant, Blacqwildflowr's performance intertwines personal and collective narratives, addressing themes of grief, Black boyhood, queerness, and the complexity of identity within a society that marginalizes softness and vulnerability. She reflects on her process of writing and performing the poem, as well as the significance of watching the film live for the first time, struck by the resilience and strength we embody through adversity and pain. He is a cultural organizer with Red Door and a co-director of the Copenhagen Poetry Film Festival Nature and Culture. Vladislav Nenchev is a part of the following creative collectives: – a member of Helsinki Writers’ Group since November 2017; – a member of The Finn-Brit Players since August 2019. With The Finn-Brit Players, Vladislav has participated as a playwright, director, producer, stage manager, sound & lights operator, and, very occasionally, reciting monologues or poems. Yemi Butterman is a Nigerian Poet and Narrative Fiction Author who finds solace in all forms of creative symphonies. His love for life is intertwined with a deep interest in literature, culture, and social issues.Yemi is the author of Two Geniuses and a Fool and Pride of the Middle One, his first two published works of fiction that have ignited a profound sense of wonder about language as an end to justifying the disregard of migrants' potential within the Nordic world. Driven by curiosity, Yemi continues to challenge the notion of "rightness" and "truth," through storytelling, engaging themes such as identity, heritage, and migrant experiences in the North, which greatly shape the trajectory of his writings.
