Am 28. November sind wir eingetaucht in die Welt der Comics und Cartoons! Wir haben uns mit dem legendären KiX Verlag beschäftigt, der in den Neunzigern großartige und vor allem witzige bis skurrile Publikationen veröffentlichte, auch heutzutage sind die Macher noch aktiv. Uns besuchten die Gründungsmitglieder und Illustratoren RAUTIE und HERRJOERGRITTER, der auch die Sendung Seepferdefahrgäste bei Radio X moderiert. Wir haben uns über die Geschichte von KiX unterhalten, über den Vorgänger „Banane“, den Playmobilismus in der Independent Kultur, damalige und aktuelle Punkrock Projekte und natürlich die KiX Filme. The South Korean city of Gwangju is home to one of the country's most important universities, a center of knowledge for innovation and creativity. All of the faculties are certainly exciting, but we are particularly interested in the Art College. The architecture alone is fascinating, a circular building with different floors, each of which teaches different creative art genres. A spiral path leads step by step to the top, passing through all the creative areas. From painting and architecture to fashion design and sculpting, then the world of film, comics and manga, and of course new technologies, AI and computer programming. In an interview, we talk to Professor RYU BEOMEOL, who teaches “Animation & Comics”. Noch bis zum 28. November findet die fantastische Ausstellung VUNDELINC in den Kreativräumen von RALF BECKER statt und am 22. November hatte uns die Künstlerin HARU NEIDHARDT im Radio X Studio besucht. Wir haben uns über die Ausstellung unterhalten, aber auch insgesamt über ihre Fotografien, Gemälde und Installationen, über Gefundenes und Weggeworfenes, die Wertigkeit von Dingen in unserer Gesellschaft und ihre vielen weiteren Projekte. We continue our series on Skopje's underground subculture and graffiti scene. This time, we talk to the awesome artist MIKS. He is fantastic in everything he produces, but also "fantastic" in the way how he is doing all of that, like considering how many fantastic genres he juggles at the same time. We used that as a metaphor and it is a good picture, he is multi-universally creative. Graffiti, tattoos, illustration, comics, canvas, and much more. Also scarves. Basically everything that's possible. A creative mastermind, in short. Still the energy is not unlimited and over time you can not keep on doing everything. Or can you? And if not. What to keep? Where to put the focus on if just everything is super interesting? When you juggle with too many balls, which one will be lost? Which one would you choose? Just no one, it happens. Like life does. The artist DRASH is one of the most important figures in Skopje, driving the scene forward with his unique signature. On the one hand, he has been decorating the city with fantastic graffiti writing for many years, while at the same time developing a very special and individual character style that makes him unmistakable. People love his work. He has grown older, becoming an oldschooler, and now has a family with children. However, these developments have only made his convictions even more energetic and passionate. In an interview, he puts it beautifully: “I don't want my children to grow up in a place that looks like a post-apocalyptic city. I want them to see colorful and beautiful things.” He loves his town and sees graffiti and urban art as an important way to do something good for its residents. The artist PANGSE from Seoul sprays colorful graffiti on the walls of the city, as well as on canvases, art objects, and sometimes also clothing. She even won a competition once and was allowed to paint a car, which she then received as a prize. Her works are always very colorful and bright, and her motifs often convey warm feelings, empathy, understanding, and love. Art brings people together and has a positive effect in every respect. That is her motto. We were there when PANGSE sprayed a colorful snail in her neighborhood in Seoul and saw how excited and delighted all the residents were. The creative CASHTRAY is actually not an artist herself, although she enjoys playing great music as a DJ time by time. Rather, she is an event organizer and facilitator of subcultural projects and activities. The URBANSTRIKERS were founded in Seoul, but now have branches in other cities as well. CASHTRAY is the captain of the Jeonju Division. She brings people together and connects them, while also showing motivating empathy and great commitment to the various scenes and movements outside the mainstream. During the previous years she has done a lot for the city and is passionately committed to subculture. Our series continues, and we have a new interview with a fantastic artist from the graffiti scene. We are very grateful to him for introducing us to this world, the artists and the places. The Korean artist YANSKI from Busan started playing music and piano at a young age. After completing her studies, she worked in sound engineering and collaborated on renowned film productions. Countless projects took her around the world, where she saw and experienced a great deal. She had always painted, but it was only later that this really came to the fore. During her travels, she realized that we are all strangers somewhere, that there is an “alien” in all of us. But also an ‘angel’ with a good heart. This gave rise to her idea for a character, the “Angelien.” With this concept, she has completely changed her world and now works as a creative artist, creating paintings, interactive installations, colorful music videos with visual effects, and performing. “Angelien” has been brought to life and inspires observers. We talked to her about her art, her creative development, and her empathy project concept of "Inner Earth" in an interview. The Korean painter, designer and digital artist BO HYUN HYANG creates fantastic mandala installations by using paper cutting techniques. The results are beautiful large-scale works, also she often plays with additional lighting effects. When we visited she was preparing new works for an exhibition in the coastal city of Busan. As well she is part of the rebel culture collective URBANSTRIKERS and together with NICK Z.WOO they lead the Busan Division as their captains. Their local group consists of 24 creative minds at the moment, but it's growing. Part of their agenda is organizing events and projects to promote subculture and creativity around town.
