"I want what SHE has" w/ Theresa Lyn Widmann (and formerly Shana Falana) is a weekly live radio show at Radio Kingston in Kingston NY and PODCAST, amplifying women's voices and their stories. We share interviews of women (female identifying humans), seeking to flip the narrative on envy and celebrating the strengths and accomplishments of women we look up to. Women are so often the unsung heroines of a community’s overall health and wellbeing. These women have gifts to share and stories to tell. It's time to listen.

S.1 E.3 Dancing With Water - Perdita Finn "Mothers of Magic"

5/1/2026
Perdita Finn is the co-founder, with her husband Clark Strand, of the feral fellowship The Way of the Rose, which inspired their book The Way of the Rose: The Radical Path of the Divine Feminine Hidden in the Rosary. They are currently at work on their next book together Circles Not Lines: Spiritual Community Beyond Patriarchy. To find out more about her devotion to “ecology not theology” visit wayoftherose.org In addition to extensive study with Zen masters, priests, spirit workers, and healers, she apprenticed with the psychic Susan Saxman, with whom she wrote The Reluctant Psychic. Perdita Finn now teaches popular workshops on Getting to Know the Dead. Participants are empowered to activate the miracles in their own lives with the help of their ancestors and recover their own intuitive magic. Her book Take Back the Magic: Conversations with the Unseen World is an intimate journey through her recovery of these lost ways. She speaks widely on how to collaborate with those on the other side, on the urgent necessity of a new romantic animism, and on the sobriety that emerges when we claim the long story of our souls. Her next book is Mothers of Magic: Summoning the Wisdom of Our Ancestors, to be released on May 5th, 2026. Perdita begins by talking about the idea of redefining Mothering beyond gender, something that feels so important in today's world where Mothering has been sidelined by the patriarchy. She offers some strong guidance to men about the role of Grandmothers which helps us move towards collective Mothering. So much of Perdita's work and book centers on a calling upon the dead. As such we get to hear how this connects with Mothering, how to speak with the dead, and viewing our worries or fretting as an act of prayer calling out for help from the unseen. S. 1 E. 2 Dancing with Water with Dr. Catherine Svehla

4/17/2026
Today on the show we are in conversation with Catherine Svehla, PhD, an independent scholar, storyteller, and mentor in the mythic life. She works with artists on their projects and process, and guides people through work/life transitions by connecting them with their inner wisdom. She is the creator of the Myth Matters podcast (part of the Joseph Campbell Foundation’s MythMaker℠ Podcast Network) and also shares the transformative power of myths and fairytales through story-based workshops and events. Catherine holds a PhD in mythology and depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and has been working the liminal fields of myth, creativity, and consciousness for 30 years. Learn more at mythicmojo.com Today we explore "the feminine" archetype beginning with Dr. Svehla's understanding of Jung's "feminine" and why she advises finding different methods of achieving our shared goal of shifting the power dynamic of the patriarchy. We learn about the philosophy of post Jungian Feminists who offer better working models for us and why Catherine believes it's important to avoid the Essentialist perspective of fixed gender qualities. So how does gender play a role in all of this? Let us know your thoughts in this ongoing collaborative conversation. Dr. Svehla will be in the Hudson Valley next week as a part of Kelli Scar's Lesser Mysteries happenings. She will be holding a talk about "The Problem of the Return" on April 29th, 2026 at the Art Society of Kingston. Here's our previous conversation with Dr. Svehla from September 2025. Like, Subscribe! Lorís Simón Salum is a Jungian psychotherapist whose work lives at the intersection of psyche, body, and symbol. Based in Houston, she works with dreams, sandtray, and LENS neurofeedback. Her path is deeply influenced by the Marion Woodman tradition, and she is currently a training candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich. Alongside her clinical work, she is developing a documentary project on the relationship between symbol and embodied transformation. 415 Shana Falana and The Goddess

2/23/2026
It's my last radio show, and I am overjoyed and grateful that I get to spend it the way it began, with my friend and show co-founder Shana Falana. To formally reintroduce you, she is a songwriter, performer, and community architect originally from San Francisco, based in the Hudson Valley since 2008. For over 25 years, Shana has merged music and public service—bringing 12-step meetings into jails and institutions throughout Ulster County, helping coordinate the early years of O+ Festival, and co-founding the I Want What SHE Has radio show on Radio Kingston. She is the founder and creative force behind The Goddess Party, a performance collective uplifting women through music, ritual, and radical joy, with sold-out shows at Opus 40, Old Dutch Church, and Basilica Hudson. Her artistic and social practice centers on amplifying women in their perimenopausal and menopausal years, increasing the visibility of aging women on stage and reshaping cultural narratives about power, beauty, and relevance after fifty. She is the creator and showrunner of a scripted television series inspired by The Goddess Party, expanding its story from live performance into narrative television. Shana is someone who as a friend I've witnessed move through the life cycle of different projects and life experiences with apparent ease. I'm someone who struggles to let go and perhaps holds on a bit too long, but she talks about what endings are like for her and how she navigates them. We get to hear about the beginning and evolution of The Goddess Party, the challenges, highlights, and what's to come. As much of her current work relates to thriving in an older woman's body, Shana shares her experience of navigating illness and perimenopause and offers many resources that have supported her along the way, always following her intuition. Here are the books Shana mentioned - Wise Power, Hagitude, Mother Hunger You can find her here ->> instagram / spotify / apple music / And stay tuned to The Goddess Party's Instagram account for more details about the upcoming March 27th benefit concert they are participating in at Levon Helm Studios. 414 Bryn Roshong "Solid Ground Farm and Food Access"

2/16/2026
Today's guest on The Feminine Frequency is Bryn Roshong. She lives on her family's farm in Lomontville with her husband, Wes Hannah, and two kids. She has spent the last 15 years working in and up against the food system as a farmer, farmer policy advocate, and in industrial-scale food manufacturing. She is co-owner with Wes of Solid Ground Farm, a four-season diversified organic veggie farm in Marbletown, stewarding 25 acres and employing 6 full-time farm staff. At the farm, she serves in roles outside the fields, supporting the farm's bookkeeping, mission, and communications. Since 2021, after eight years working in operations at a former food processing facility called The Farm Bridge, Bryn has been working with a great team at Community Food Works, building community-focused food processing infrastructure in Kingston to strengthen the local agricultural economy and make local food accessible to as many community members as possible. She enjoys hanging out with her family at home and in the woods, and volunteering with a few local organizations: the Kingston farmers market board, Marbletown's Community Preservation Advisory Board, advisory committee for Growing Homes, and political advocacy working group of the HV Young Farmers Coalition. We get to hear about how Bryn (and Wes) went from labor organizing to farm working to running their own farm supported by a team of dedicated farmers. We learn about the work Bryn has done and is doing to create a more self sustaining food system in the Hudson Valley which includes a deeper understanding of how food banks and food pantries work. I had no idea! Bryn is also well versed in the inherent racism in the farming industry and sheds light on how the Federal Government's efforts to reverse DEI has impacted beneficial food programs that were bringing more equality to farming and food access. How does she do it all while also being a mom to two young children? She's starting to find ways to receive help despite the personal challenges and perspectives that created the "I can and must do it all" attitude. Who else can relate??? (We do.) More on that, but for now, we hope you enjoy our conversation with Bryn. You can learn more about the Farm and their CSA program here. Here's your New Moon Solar Eclipse astrology. 413 "Miracles and Love" with Marielena Ferrer

2/9/2026
It's my last on air show with Marielena Ferrer! We started this monthly conversation about Spirituality and Politics, the art of living and the art of living together, nearly 5 years ago in April 2021. It's been a wonderful and expansive exploration of subjects that are near and dear to my heart and my sense of curiosity. We chose to end our run with a conversation about Miracles. We'd given ourselves homework to explore A Course in Miracles, but I had a hard time digesting it, even Marianne Williamson's interpretation of it. But that didn't stop us for working through some of the meaning of the text and overall, what miracles are and how they relate to the art of living. Related to the conversation is the concept of Love which you might say is the art of living together. Perhaps from a scientific perspective, it is the glue that holds us together. We'll be continuing our conversation at Unison Arts beginning on March 6, 2026 and in the podcast once my radio show sunsets. Stay tuned for more! Some resources: Perceiving Reality through Kabbalah. Today on the show I get to spend time with Koyoltzintli. She is an interdisciplinary artist and educator living in Ulster County, New York. She was raised on the Pacific coast and in the Andean mountains of Ecuador. Her work revolves around sound, ancestral technologies, ritual, and storytelling, blending collaborative processes with personal narratives. Nominated for the Prix Pictet in 2019 and 2023, her work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, the United Nations, the Parrish Art Museum, Princeton University, the Aperture Foundation in NYC, and Paris Photo. Her first monograph, Other Stories, was published in 2017 by Autograph ABP. Her work was featured in the Native issue of Aperture Magazine (no. 240) and included in the book Latinx Photography in the United States by Elizabeth Ferrer, former chief curator at BRIC. She is part of Flow States – LA TRIENAL 2024, El Museo del Barrio’s second large-scale survey of Latinx contemporary art. Recently, she performed at Performance Space in NYC, curated by Guadalupe Maravilla, at Dia Chelsea for the closing event of Delcy Morelos' El Abrazo, and at Ann Street Gallery in Newburgh, NY. During our conversation, Koyo shares about her family, her childhood, how her travels with her father and the rooting into her ancestral lands with her mother helped to shape who she is today. We learn about her dear elders who she both photographed and studied with, and how they played a role in the work she does today with clay and indigenous sounds. While Koyo shares some of the stories of her days as a photojournalist, it would seem that we barely scratched the surface of all that flows from and through her. You can follow along with her offerings and creations by way of her website and social media. Stay tuned for details of an upcoming show in April! 411 The Feminine Frequency "The Year of the Fire Horse: Community, Care, Love and Nonviolence"

1/26/2026
Today, Theresa and Jennifer are discussing the Year of the Fire Horse and what that might mean for how we move through the year. First, what are we hearing and feeling about the Fire Horse? High-energy, sometimes chaotic, transformation, bold changes, breaking old patterns... It's an excellent time for self care and community care and maybe incorporating some white or blue into your life to balance the fiery red. How may we choose to show up in a big collective community care way? Protesting, activism, nonviolence. Erica Chenoweth is someone Theresa refers to when thinking about countering the violence with non-violence. We discuss what makes a successful nonviolent movement: 1. the ability to organize large scale participation and build momentum, 2. ability to illicit loyaltyships in key pillars of support. 3. maintain resilience even under violence. 4. innovate beyond street demonstrations. Playbook of every successful non-violent struggle. Jennifer think about the different roles we might play when engaged in a movement as outlined in the Social Change Ecosystem Map. And is inspired by the wisdom shared by Valerie Kaur and her philosophy on Revolutionary Love: Three Different Tenets to it. Loving Self, Love for Others, Love for your Opponents. Jackie grew up in Port Ewen and attended Kingston City Schools, then went to college, earning both a bachelor’s and master's degree in music education from the Crane School of Music. 409 Fire, War, Miracles "Spirituality and Politics"

1/12/2026
It's time for Spirituality and Politics with Marielena Ferrer and I. Today we talk about how we're letting go of last year and entering this year by way of our New Year/Solstice wish rituals. We ponder fire as portal into another dimension, why we wish for things, the purpose of a wish and what we feel permission to wish for. Because Marielena is from Venezuela, we dip our toe into the complexities of the political situations we find our country in, and how our inner children are relating to them. We end with some New Moon Vibes and a contemplation of miracles. More on that next month for our final show! Today’s show was engineered by Ian Seda from Radiokingston.org. 408 Corinna Barsan "Aligned Light"

1/5/2026
This week on the show I am joined by Corinna Barsan, an Akashic Records reader, Crystal Resonance therapist, spiritual medium, and Reiki practitioner. She is also an independent book editor and writing coach, having worked in publishing for 15 years and in the MFA Writing Program at Columbia University. She lives and works in Kingston, NY, where she is the co-creator of Spiral Mirror, a metaphysical used bookstore and community space that she opened with her husband, Dan Chung, in March 2025. Corinna and I talk about her childhood when she first began to connect with spirits and guides, and why she quieted those voices until she finally felt permission to embrace that part of herself. After finding herself misaligned with her professional career, Corinna began a long and ever evolving journey to reconnect with herself. We talk about what she did, and what she learned along the way including how she embraced and moved beyond the fear that kept her misaligned. She shares with us how the seeds of Spiral Mirror came to fruition and all the goodness they offer there. You can connect with her and her offerings at Aligned Light. 406 The Feminine Frequency of Wintering

12/22/2025
It's time for the Feminine Frequency when Jennifer Mulak and I wander through a subject that's near and dear to our hearts, Winter. Inspired by the book Wintering by Catherine May, we talk about Winter's meaning and how we "intend" to shift our own ways of being during this special time of darkness and rest. But, first, we check in on how we spent the Solstice, and appreciate how ritual can have meaning even when there's not a lot of extra time for it. We consider what "rest" is, and how we relate to it, how we notice and redirect that internal voice that is stuck in habits that don't currently serve, the Wintering times in life that do not necessarily coincide with the Winter season, and contemplate the meaning of Kim Kran's Archetype card, "The Faultline" which I pulled last week for this season. 405 "Solstice Vibes"

12/15/2025
Had to do a last minute pivot for today's show when my planned guest was unable to join, so as I've done in year's past, I'll be bringing some solstice vibes to the airwaves. Inspired by some recently spotted social posts about the erasure of European spirituality by way of Christianity, and stumbling upon some ancestral (German) practices for this time of the year, I bring you today's show with solstice happenings and age old traditions. Past guest, Anastasia Wasko is offering an online creative writing workshop, Bringing Light to Darkness on Sunday, the 21st between 12-2 Eastern. Anastasia was listening in to the show today, and called in at the end which was a super special surprise treat. Happy Birthday to her! Past guest MuggaRose is offering free shipping from her website using code IAMYOURWITCH2025. Strange Love Shop in Saugerties, is offering Aura Photos / Readings and if they mention Kingston Radio she'll honor a special B1G1 1/2 off on any aura package or Aura gift /mix and match! Spiral Mirror is offering two solstice events, Earth Oracle Readings by Liridona 1-4pm on the 21st and a Winter Solstice Gathering in collaboration with Jaguar Mary X from 6:30-8:30pm. Cosmic Mother Solstice Juniper Distilling in the Rondout on Dec. 20th. The Bridge Meditation and Book Signing on Dec. 21st. Gargie Verma has a new song out! Here's today's playlist and the offering I mentioned to connect to the lost tradition of song by Danica Boyce. The Magic of 13 Wishes German Girl in America My foreshadowing New Moon // Solstice archetype Kim Krans cards are The Temple, The Faultline, and The Father. More about them soon... Today’s show was engineered by Ian Seda from Radiokingston.org. Our show music is from Shana Falana! 404 "The Emerald Tablet" with Eliza Swann and Marielena Ferrer

12/8/2025
For our second to last Spirituality and Politics on Radio Kingston, Marielena and I are joined by returning guest, Eliza Swann - writer, educator, artist and alchemist, to continue our conversation into The Emerald Tablet. Last month on the show, we focused on the first paragraph of the Tablet. Today, we revisit it with Eliza, who shares their depth of knowledge and experience in working with the text. Eliza then carries us into the second paragraph with a strong analogy that helps to make sense of this somewhat esoteric text, the bridge between the ineffable and the mundane. "True, without falsehood, certain and most true, that which is above is as that which is below, and that which is below is as that which is above, for the performance of the miracles of the One Thing. And as all things are from One, by the mediation of One, so all things have their birth from this One Thing by adaptation. The Sun is its father, the Moon its mother, and the Wind carries it in its belly, its nurse is the Earth. This is the father of all perfection, or consummation of the whole world. Its power is integrating, if it be turned into earth. Thou shalt separate the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross, suavely, and with great ingenuity. It ascends from earth to heaven and descends again to earth, and receives the power of the superiors and of the inferiors. So thou hast the glory of the whole world; therefore let all obscurity flee before thee. This is the strong force of all forces, overcoming every subtle and penetrating every solid thing. So the world was created. Hence were all wonderful adaptations, of which this is the manner. Therefore am I called Hermes Trismegistus, having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world. What I have to tell is completed, concerning the Operation of the Sun." Tune in to our last on air Spirituality and Politics conversation on January 12th as we welcome in a new year and new beginnings. While this show will conclude its on air presence at Radio Kingston at the end of January, it will continue as a podcast, and Marielena is sure to return for more conversations as we move forward in a new way. 403 Amanda Marlowe "Eco Art and Cycles of Life"

12/1/2025
Today on the show I get to chat with Amanda Marlowe! She guides thoughtful art experiences that ask kids life's big questions. She develops curriculum for nature non-profits schools, museums, and businesses. Amanda holds a BSA in Philosophy and Education from Skidmore College and is currently writing a children’s book on death. Her business, Eco Art, is a thoughtful art experience on sustainability and impermanence for kids. A trash art offering designed to interact with the byproduct of creation. All bits and bobs upcycled. Materials supplied, though feel free to byot (bring your own trash)! Amanda shares how and why she began to work with children through the medium of upcycled art. It began really out of her own processing of her birth mother's death and a curiosity about what to do with her belongings. Our conversation touches on themes of grief, loss, letting go, and cycles of life. She also works with children who have lost a loved one, and works with a team of folks at Roula's Kids to support them through their grieving process. It feels important to mention that during our conversation, something opens up for me, and the tears began to flow. We left unresolved her resistance to the label artist, and are still unpacking what to do with the "shoulds" that surface from time to time. Clearly there's more for us to talk about. I could listen to her share her creative ideas for what to do with leftover toys and arts supplies for hours and am excited to try my hand at making paper! You can find her Mondays at CCE, High Meadow School and contact her for your kiddos special event or if you have items you think she might enjoy transforming with her clients. (Multiples greatly appreciated!) Today’s show was engineered by Ian Seda from Radiokingston.org. Our show music is from Shana Falana! 402 Liridona Duraku "Land Divination"

11/24/2025
It's our monthly chat about The Feminine Frequency with Jennifer and Theresa! Joining us today in conversation is Liridona Duraku, a first generation Albanian American. She currently lives in the Hudson Valley and spends most of her time outdoors studying the local fauna. Liri received a BA from CUNY York in Journalism and Political Science but found herself working in mostly activist spaces. She has a professional background in the food industry, farming and hospitality. Recently she did further study as a special student at SUNY New Paltz studying art and psychology. Liri is also an herbalist. As a child, herbal remedies and natural medicine was part of her upbringing, she often heard stories of women healers and even got to know a few. She blends her ancestral Balkan knowledge with the various herbal trainings she has done. She has studied with Vanessa Chakour of Sacred Warrior in Brooklyn and Scotland, Clinical Alchemy with Evolutionary Herbalism, Ayurveda with Tribe Yoga in Rishikesh, India, Astro-Herbalism with Judith Hill and Wild Gather in the Hudson Valley. Liri has published fiction and non-fiction writing and shown work in small local galleries. Her work is primarily oil paintings, charcoal and pastel drawings but recently has been playing in forms of ceramics and sculpture of various materials. She draws inspiration from her experience of diaspora, a child of (non-documented) immigrants fleeing war and ethnic cleansing. She brings in imagery, ritual and mysticism of Balkan culture and themes of plants, animals, folklore, myth and magic can be seen throughout her work. Today we get to hear about what Land Divination is and how Liri began communicating with the land and its many occupants. The conversation weaves through some of the practical, and often the magical of being in right relationship to the land, plants and animals. She offers monthly Earth Oracle readings and Land Divination workshops at Spiral Mirror in Kingston, NY, as well as an online Land Divination course. You can find her paintings, ceramic work and herbal potions for sale on her website as well as at Pink Clementine in Kerhonkson, NY, Feast and Floret in Hudson, NY and soon at Holding Space in Kingston, NY. Liri offers private reading and ritual sessions as well as custom aura paintings. Contact lirimeansfree@gmail.com for any other inquiries. Here's the article I mentioned about the Origins of Thanksgiving and the perspectives of 7 Native Americans. And lastly, the Red Feather Drummers hold monthly talks at the Old Dutch Church. 401 Nicole Nyhan "Kundalini Awakening"

11/17/2025
Today I get to speak with Nicole Nyhan (they/she) who underwent a Kundalini awakening in 2021 that radically transformed their life. This consciousness and healing journey ultimately led to the creation of The Bridge, a space built to foster individual and communal healing, restoration, and connection. We get to learn about what Nicole's life looked like prior to their awakening as an agnostic materialist. Then they walk us through some of the events that were likely contributing catalysts for this sudden and unexpected physical and psychological shift. Nicole has spent a lot of time trying to make sense of the physical and emotional experiences they were having. She shares what's she's learned and ponders the meaning of it with me. We also get into the magic that conjured The Bridge and all the goodness that happens there: cacao, breathwork, womb circles, Queer Witch Club, yoga, Venus Day, astrology, community connection and lots more. Nicole along with the good people and Spiral Mirror also offer monthly opportunities for connection with others who've had similar awakening moments. 400 "The Emerald Tablet" with Marielena Ferrer

11/10/2025
It's Episode 400!!! A perfect day for Mariaelena and I to finally dive in to...The Emerald Tablet of Hermes. It's something she has been referring to from the days of us first plotting this monthly collaboration, and since I started to explore alchemy, it's been of interest for me to go deeper. This is the translation we're working from for purposes of our conversation. What I have to tell is completed, concerning the Operation of the Sun." Marielena ties the Tarot to the Tablet, and we work through some of the meaning and purpose of the text. This may be cringy for those of you well steeped in the text, but it's a window into the beginner's mind and how someone, like myself, is coming to it seeking an understanding of how it's relevant to the art of living. We explore the notion of the "One Thing," what are miracles, and what it means to be perfected. Is it a formula for creating, for being like "GOD?" We've got more to go and will continue in our next conversation in December. Today’s show was engineered by Ian Seda from Radiokingston.org. Our show music is from Shana Falana!
