Fr. Connor shares how the parables of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Lost Son illustrate for us God's pursuit of his lost children. They show us how reckless God's love is for us, and how God is offering us a "do over."
Fr. Connor unpacks the Sunday readings involving Abraham/3 guests and Mary/Martha, which, at first, seem to present conflicting ideas about the role of hospitality. However, intentionality is the key to Jesus' message and to everything we do.
Fr. Connor explains that how we find Christ in the people we are called to show compassion. Christianity is a way of seeing the reality of what is in front of us. Who is our neighbor? Our neighbor is Christ. So who are we going to be toward Christ in our midst?
What we see in human beings is an image of who God is. God is love, a perfect communion of Persons, and the Trinity’s perfect love for one another proceeds from them into the Person of their fellowship, of their love, who is the Holy Spirit and who animates the Church. That is the mystery we are drawn up into.
When all seems hopeless and lost, we often forget the Jesus is always with us. Rather than thinking about What Would Jesus Do, we must instead think about What Is Jesus Already Doing? God is knocking on the "door" of heart and asking us to let Him in.
