Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Each of us has a voice and a choice. Are we going to use both of those to listen and follow God or are we going to fall victim to the tempation of the Devil?

Listen in as Baxter Colburn has the opportunity to preach his first message at Lakeside Community Church in Algoma, WI. Baxter talks about how we need to work to reclaim the table this holiday season through community, gathering together and ultimately thanking God for all he has done for us.

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. We examine the prayer of David as he calls deeply upon God and asks for help. We can use this prayer as a guideline for how we can establish better prayer with God and make deeper commitments to serving him.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. We have so much division in our world today. It is important to take the time to focus on how we can unite our world more, one person at a time.

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

"The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. The things of this world are so temporary yet we place so much time and effort into ""stuff"" we cannot take with us. Don't get caught up in earthly things friends. "

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. We are called to go out and preach the gospel to all nations. How do you share your faith in your daily life? Are you living out an example of what a Christ follower truly is?

The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? God is constant. No matter what. He is always there and never changes.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

To answer before listening— that is folly and shame. God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason..are you using them properly?

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. Are you speaking to those interested in the faith with love and kindness? Are you using the Bible that has all the answers in it to help guide them? If not, I encourage you to begin doing so in order to be the perfect light in peoples faith journey.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. The start of holy week is here. The time to journey deeper into our faith and what God is calling us to do hear starts today.

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Are you using the gifts that God has given to you? Are you taking advantage of all that is around you? Take inventory and see how you can use your gifts for the glory of God.
