So they tried for a second child, who tragically died from epilepsy, aged 8 months, in 1991. When the Folbigg's third child died aged 10 months from a respiratory infection, suspicious were raised. And when the couple's fourth child died, the finger was pointed at Kathleen. There was no evidence, only some sad writings in a diary, yet she was charged with murder and manslaughter and sentenced to 30 years in prison. For 20 years, Kathleen maintained her innocence from behind bars - and then the science of genetics changed everything.
