Since November of 2022, the country has been mesmerized by the events in the small town of Moscow, Idaho. Four well loved, beautiful young people had their lives not only taken from them but they were scrutinzed, turned upside down, investigated and doubted only to find out that a demented murderer decided to enact his own twisted desires. There are many outlets who have produced great content about the case. I have never wanted to cover something so big when other creators have more resources, time, access. When a upper middle class family of four in the Setagaya District of Japan are slaughtered in their home everyone wonders what could be the motive? The family are well loved and having no known enemies could this be a random robbery gone bad? Except money was left, the killer stayed for hours after killing father Mikio, mother Yaskuo, daughter Ninna and son Rei, ate food from their kitchen, used their bathroom leaving excrement in the toilet, left a duffel bag with evidence which leads back to a military base in California, used the families knives to kill them and even left a body imprint on the couch and carpeting where he took a nap. When a responsible, caring, much loved mother, sister, daughter, friend does not show up after a "camping" trip with a co-worker to pick up her only beloved daughter Patti's sister knows something is very, very wrong. Patricia Adkins was a motivated, ambitious single mother who had a supportive family to help out with child care occasionally and a house full of pets she treated better than most people treat their human family. She rose through the ranks at Honda of America in Central Ohio to become a shift supervisor and treated everyone like a mother hen. Patti didn't have much time for romance, raising her daughter, working hard, etc. When she found an emotional connection with a co-worker that became something more she had no idea it would change or end her life. Jennifer Kesse was a beautiful, brilliant recent graduate from university who was beloved and climbing the ladder of her first job out of school. She had managed to be so valuable that the worldwide company created a new position for her so the whole company could benefit from her acumen. Not a lot of early 20 somethings can afford to buy their own home. But hard work and some help from her very close family helped her get a condo on her own. If anyone was prepared for a violent attack or assault of any kind it was. Jennifer. Before they started their family her parents had been the victims of a in home invasion. They prepared Jennifer and her younger brother on what to do during any sort of assault by having them take different kinds of self-defense training. No one could have imagined Jennifer would be leaving for work one day and never be seen again.

When a family from Pittsburgh, PA moves across the country for an employment opportunity in 1982 the last thing they worried about was their daughter Karen fitting in. Pittsburgh was a world away from Palo Alto, CA but 15 year oldl Karen was a spitifire. She was athletic and creative, made new friends easily and even had a high school crush on a boy named Michael who was crushing back on her. She had learned the bus system to get the ten miles to Michael's house in Sunnyvale since neither were old enough to drive. They had plans on September 3, 1982 to have some food, play video games and get to know each other better. Around midnight, Michael walked her to the bustop and ran home to not miss his own curfew. The following morning a delivery driver found a scene no one should ever have to see. Karen had been sexually assaulted and mutilated. Decades went by with no closure until 2022 when Gary Ramirez was tied to Karen's murder and denied knowing anything. He was arrested then and convicted just a few weeks ago. Hear Karen's story here.

A retired chemist, from a family that had immigrated to the US from Lebanon, she and her older sister shared a home and the LTD convertible as well as a sisterly friendship that was a beautiful bond. Aggie was a nightowl and would volunteer at the church that her family had belonged to for decades, Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Main Street in Covington. on July 2, 1992. 69 year old Aggie Albert went to Sacred Heart with her keys and spent some time cleaning up after a church event. She was excited to participate in the upcoming Fourth of July parade which she always did, decorating her bike to show her pride in her town. When her sister realized she had not returned home from her trip to the church at 9:30PM the night before she was on her way to Sacred Heart when she was stopped by a policeman blocking the street where crime scene tape was strung up to prevent gawkers from seeing Aggie who had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death. When hard working, loyal, salt of the Earth guy like Jimmy Tidwell goes missing in February of 2012 after finishing his regular shift at work, no one can imagine what could've happened. After friends and family members were suspected but no evidence of involvement was found, some questions might be closer to being answered. While random abductions and murders are relatively rare, Jimmy could have crossed paths with the devil - Israel Keyes. April of 1997 finds accomplished, loving wife and mother Judy Smith accompanying her attorney husband Jeffrey Smith from their home in Boston to Philadelphia for a health care industry legal conference. April 10th was going to be sight seeing day for Judy while Jeffrey was attending the conference. She left the upscale hotel where the conference was being held in the morning and never returned that day or any other. Almost 6 months to the day that Judy left Philadelphia hunters found her body 600 miles away in. Pisgah National Park Forest in North Carolina, an area that Judy or anyone who knew her had no known connection. She was found wearing clothing that was not familiar to her family and her wedding ring, cash and and unfamiliar pair of designer sunglasses were found in a shallow grave where she had been placed under a tree. Judy was stabbed in the back several times until the blade reached her spine. Who could have down this to Judy and why? More questions than answers. Keith Roberts did pick her up on July 6, 1983 and states that Tammy Lynn got out of his car around 5 miles from her home. She has never been heard from or seen again.
