His signature policy was shot down by the Supreme Court he helped stock told him “no” on tariffs so he got big mad at SCOTUS’ decision. Lashing out at anyone and everyone and this tariff argument reaching as far as the Olympics, well at least for Lewis because he explains to us how they made him actually root for Canada as they were defeated by both the men and women’s US Hockey teams. Realizing that his dog Sammy, who just turned one, has more empathy for the public than any politician or leader seems to. Prompting Lewis to believe Sammy might just have a future in politics. The topline wacky news of the week includes: MAGA picking on Olympians who are out there on the world’s stage being asked questions about what’s going on within our borders. Krity Noem firing, then re-hiring a pilot over a forgotten blanket. Pam Bondi’s unhinged testimony before congress that was so wild Jim Jordan wasn’t even buying it. A racist video depicting the Obamas as monkeys. An attack on climate change. Jeff Bezos gutting the Washington Post. Prayer breakfasts that involve looking for missiles in planes. And finally, for whatever reason, the resurgence of an old Chevrolet theme song. It’s been a particularly wild week of cluttering up our news feeds with the absolute most nonsense possible. Because this past week some really unforgivable things happened that should’ve registered more than a blip on the public consciousness. A sitting president posted an extremely racist video of a former president and his wife and proceeded to remove himself from all responsibility. Because the buck doesn’t stop with him, no way. Speaking of bucks, the same man is attempting to hold up billions of dollars for the Hudson Tunnel project because he’s having a tantrum about naming things after himself. And in possibly the silliest of the week’s controversy, the outrage was unjustly too high as our leader found it upsetting about the halftime performers at the Super Bowl.
