Episode 9: Winnipeg, We Live Here - What's Your Excuse?

8/18/2018
More
Pete Tessier and I have known each other for about 8 years now. We've both called Winnipeg home for well over ten years; nearly 20 in Pete's case. We did not grow up here which makes thing different. Pete is a west coast guy and I am an anglo-Quebecer. I have also lived in 5 time zones and have found an appreciation for every city I have lived in. Winnipeg isn't the quirkiest but close to it; it's not the best but close to it. It is the hardest to explain to people who are not from here....

My friend Gestur turned 50 last week. I haven't been to a 50th birthday gathering since my dad's 20 years ago, which ironically, was also at an Ontario Lake. Episode 6 - Our Fixation With Trader Joe's

7/12/2018
More
There's no Trader Joe's in Canada. Maybe it's better that way. After all, you saw what happened to Target, right? Avery and I spent a morning listening to the "Inside Trader Joe's" Podcast as research for our upcoming trip to Minneapolis. We loved this podcast and full disclosure - it is put together by Dave Beasing from Sound That Brands, who is a guest on Episode 107 of our brother production, The Sound Off Podcast. If you get a chance, please rate and review this podcast, and share the...

Episode 5: Jessica Scott-Reid's Life as a Hockey Wife

More
You know the TV show Hockey Wives? It features a rotating cast of 7 or 8 hockey wives, their family life and struggles with players going on the road, managing on their own - and the pressures - yes there are pressures - of trying to live a normal life on a planet revolving around hockey. I watched season 1 of Hockey Wives. I Pvr'd season 2 and didn't get into season 3. Then I realized i had a podcast and said - hey... i know a hockey wife. Back in 2006 when Brandon Reid played for the...

I walked in on a conversation between Avery and her friend. They were have sexy talk so obviously I had to capture the magic. Episode 2: Goat Yoga and Other Variations

6/1/2018
More
Lanora is one of my favourite yoga instructors; probably because she turned me onto Osho. So I am leaning on her to tell me about what's yoga, and what isn't. Naked yoga, dog yoga, and now goat yoga. Lanora's answers surprised me and I was just happy we could hash it out over a cup of tea. Also inside this episode, I confronted Lanora about her infatuation with Skid Row's Sebastian Bach.

In the inaugural episode, I reach out to my love Avery. After a summer of being jammed in an airplane seat travelling from Winnipeg to Quebec City to Montreal to Minneapolis to Winnipeg to Montreal to Ottawa to NYC to Montreal to LA to Vancouver to Winnipeg to Minneapolis then Green Bay and back to Winnipeg..... I felt like crap. There's something not right about airplanes and the seats they jam us into. Remember that I am just a podcaster so first class is out of the question. So is...
