Dr. Ruthie Meadows, an ethnomusicologist with the UNR College of Music describes for us the history of Jazz and its Afro-Caribbean roots. Demonstrating that Jazz is not just an American genre, Dr. Meadows gives various examples of Jazz artists and styles from outside the United States, broadening the scope of our understanding of the genre.
