For years, wedding directories have been a frustration for suppliers. High prices, lofty promises and dubious quality enquiries. It's a topic that comes up constantly in photography groups and industry chats and it's one I wanted to tackle head on. In this episode I sit down with Zoe Burke, Head of Brand at Bridebook, for an honest conversation about the state of wedding directories today. We discuss why so many suppliers have felt let down, what Bridebook is doing differently with its pricing and packages and how the platform is shifting its focus from enquiry volume to genuine lead quality. People tell me I shoot a lot of weddings. Well this week's guest, Kien makes me (and many others) look like we're not even trying! Oh and did I mention that Kien is a videographer....not even a photographer! In this week's episode, I sit down with Kien from KB Wedding Videography. The busiest videographer I personally know. His journey is unlike anything I've heard before. Kien talks to us about how he built is successful business, filming his first wedding at 11! Yes....11!!! Since then he's built one of the most consistently booked videography businesses in the UK. Photographers reported disappearing profiles and vanishing reviews. Luke Granger became the face of the controversy. Since then, he has not publicly shared his full perspective. Until now. A cancelled flight, a budget hotel near Gatwick and a whole lot of lessons. This week Daiga & I reveal our destination disaster and recall some of our real stories of when things have gone wrong for us at weddings.
