Spiced Cider and Rising Tides

The raging storm is locking everyone inside. But something far deadlier is trying to get out. In the water-laced province of Morrowfen, licensed ferryman Easton Evans has spent his life cultivating the persona of a universally loved host. But when a massive, relentless flood traps a desperate group of travelers inside his sprawling, heavy-timbered ferry house, Easton's comfortable illusion is shattered. While completing his provincial manifest, he discovers four forged transit chits bearing the impossible signature of a dead lock inspector. Reporting the terrified fugitives will send them to a brutal fate; hiding their secrets makes him an accomplice to a major provincial crime. Before Easton can figure out a way to cover his tracks, the unthinkable happens: one of the fugitives vanishes entirely from the tightly locked building. With the arrival of Dennis Daniels, a ruthless local official demanding strict compliance and structural searches, the clock starts ticking. Easton must plunge into the darkest, flooded corners of the ferry house cellar to solve the locked-room mystery and protect the remaining refugees—before the landbound authorities discover the truth and send him to the dredging camps.
