As her reputation steadily grows, Posie Parker is asked to accompany the utterly charming Inspector Richard Lovelace of Scotland Yard on an undercover mission of entrapment. Their destination is a glittering New Year’s Eve party at the remote Maypole Manor in Kent, the cliff-top home of Lord Robin Glaysayer. Scotland Yard have one of the house guests in their sights as being a dangerous criminal, but which guest is it? Among the twelve guests are a famous film star, an artist, an Italian nobleman, a government spy and the Glaysayer sisters, one of whom is a mysterious clairvoyant and the other is a society ‘Bright Young Thing’. As the party gets going, and a thirteenth house guest unexpectedly arrives, the champagne flows, and the snowstorm outside turns unsettlingly into a blizzard. Then their host, Lord Robin, is found murdered, and another guest too…. But why?
