Burned once before my Thomas Jefferson, Burr's vow to oblige every single elector to throw a vote towards him - resulting in a tied election in 1800. Once tossed to the vote, Alexander Hamilton's backroom dealings lends credence to the fact that Burr might be seeking the top office for himself. In the face of Virginia's raising of an army to back Jefferson, Hamilton relented - pulling the strings of another congressmen to crown Thomas Jefferson. In his explanation, he torches the ground that Burr stride upon - referring to him as an embryo caesar and setting the stage for their infamous duel.
