Normally we would share tips to avoid nightmares, or to manage to deal with them. Dreaming of unpleasant or sad things, dreaming of bad times we had or dreaming of finding ourselves in embarrassing situations, is not something pleasant. We give you some tips that may be useful if you want to live an intense night... in nightmares, of course. 1. Sleep more hours than necessary Expert sleep researchers have determined that nightmares occur during a specific stage of the night. Specifically, during the so-called Rapid Eye Movement (REM). REM is one of the final stages of sleep, so if you sleep for many hours, more than necessary, it is possible that your REM will be longer and you will experience more nightmares. 2. Eat a lot of spicy food! Very spicy or very salty food can help you if you want to have a nightmare. This is because the spicy raises our temperature, which alters our entire sleep cycle.
