Annie Clark, who records and performs under the name St. Vincent, juxtaposes her sweet, beautiful voice against wildly distorted guitar lines and bouncing synth grooves to make undeniable art rock. Clark began her career as a guitarist for The Polyphonic Spree and Sufjan Stevens before releasing her debut as St. Vincent, the delicately arranged Marry Me, in 2007. This was followed by the cinematic Actor in 2009 and the lyrically frank Strange Mercy in 2011. She collaborated with David Byrne on 2012's Love This Giant and released her self-titled fourth album in 2014. Here we have compiled some of her interviews and performances.
