OG OR MAN 135 – We Are The Goon Squad (And We’re Coming To Town) R.I.P. Alex Pretti The (very) delayed sequel to show 134 pays belated respects to another innocent murdered by the goon squad. One of many murdered by an array of goon squads unleashed across the world. Let us stand with the innocent and oppressed, whoever they are and wherever they may be. This week’s show defiantly presents, inter alia: indie, punky and post rock vibes from Manchester, motorik-tinged new wave from Brighton, deconstructed rock from Nottingham, electronica from Anatolia, 70s psychedelia from Chile, modernist folk-chant from Ukraine, and dreamy techno involving that weird Norwegian elf-thing. And drone metal from Seattle that’ll rattle your teeth out. Get your OG OR MAN on @steamradiomcr Mixcloud or @slackcityradio archive on Totally Radio. Links in bios, tracklists in comments. The Brian Turner Overdrive // 15 Apr 2026

4/14/2026
Today: Marija Kovačević & Rob Mayson come for a live session at EVR’s studio. Respectively armed with broken violins and a mic’d squawking drumstool, the duo will explore the ritualistic, improvisational worlds of sonic decay with raw, acoustic-based, and quite physical presentation amidst the live environs of the East Village itself. Serbian-born Kovačević has travelled the world conducting her minimalistic broken violin performances in numerous locales, Mayson has been in assorted musical units both in Australia and the USA, and is a stalwart of the live local music scene with his productions at Abasement and Stereo Mandrax. He is also the host of EVR’s Wednesday weekly Vocoder Radio.

OG OR MAN 134 - WAR! // 08 Apr 2026

4/7/2026
OG OR MAN 134 – WAR! R.I.P. Renee Good Well, what do you call it when armed and masked goons come into your city and start shooting unarmed citizens? It isn’t peace, is it? This week’s show does its best to strike a (manic) balance between cheerful vibes and outright fucking fury, featuring, inter alia: classic Americana (the GOOD Americana, yeah?), new stuff from Manchester, San Francisco, New York and, er Middlewich, punk, post punk, pre-punk funk, soothing ambient electronica, abrasive industrial pop and a clenched fistful of my favourites from last year. And loads of blazing polemic (as you’d expect) from Sinead O’Connor. OG OR MAN – music to put you in a right mood.
