Developer bids $25M to turn Gillian's Wonderland Pier site into luxury townhouses

Philip Norcross, brother of George and Donald, has made an offer to buy Wonderland Pier in Ocean City. A family spokesman says the offer is for $25 million to buy the iconic boardwalk site and turn it into luxury townhouses. Through the spokesman, Norcross says this is a great opportunity to redevelop Wonderland Pier and maintain Ocean City as America’s greatest family resort. He hopes this will ensure the next generation of families can build memories as his family has. City Council recently rejected Icona Resorts' proposal for a hotel there. New speed cameras along Broad Street are now live

The newly installed speed cameras on Broad Street are now live. The cameras have been placed at 14 intersections from Cheltenham Avenue all the way down to Pattison Avenue. There will be a 60-day warning period. After that, drivers will be fined $100. These cameras have been used on Roosevelt Boulevard in the Northeast. According to the city's Vision Zero program, speeding violations there have gone down 95% since the cameras were installed five years ago. And, the number of pedestrians hit has dropped about 50%.
