Voice control has become a common place item in our day to day lives. With things like Alexa and Siri we are using our voice to turn on lights, search the internet, send messages and find out what song that just was. But when it comes to games voice controls have always been tricky if not just down right broken. But thats not without trying. For a small while there voice controlled games were coming out and testing the boundaries of this technology. But it was quickly realized that this may not really have a place in the world of games. For years we only had a few viewpoints in the world of gaming when it came to story telling. Year after year we were shown the same viewpoint of WWII through ever evolving graphics. But now we are starting to get new story tellers in games and are finally able to see the world through different lenses. Game like T'challa are giving us a slice of life from New Caledonia, or Saviorless showing us the struggles of game development in Cuba. Or now Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is introducing us to rich lore and heart gripping stories from Abubakar Salim's Kenyan heritage. There is a common thread that we have brought up many times. Games are changing and forever evolving. But there is something that remains a constant, and that is we want our games to be fun. Although the level of fun in games seems to be dropping with our new larger games. There is something to be said about simple games that it is easier to see the fun in them. The state a gaming reviews needs a change. The number system just does not work and too many big critics out there are reviewing game genres that they do not even like. So, we are getting biased reviews and only large games with big budgets are getting the attention when many smaller titles that are evolving their respective genre are being left behind. There has to be a better way. Demos have changed so much over the years. From the disks you would get in the back of a magazine, or the ones you could get from pizza hut; to now with early access or the ability to play a game for x amount of hours. But the question is do demos still have that. same magic they. once had. They used to be an event or something to look forward to. Hello all and welcome back! So, there has been a game that has taken over the internet for a bit here and that is Balatro. If you love card games, a bit or randomness and strategy you are going to love this one. We knew we would enjoy this title, but didn't know just how much! This game is so surprising at first glance it felt like a simple fun experience. But there iis so much to explore and discover in this game! But there is a dark side to Balatro. Shortly after it's release it's rating got changed to 18+ due to "gambling". This rating change caused it to be removed from store fronts and really came as a shock. It is with a heavy heart that we come to you this week with some horrible news. We have lost a hero, a legend, an icon, Akira Toriyama. He has inspired multiple generations across anime, manga and games. His style is so memorable that no one can mistake his work. You often hear about people and celebrities passing, but for us this one has hit so hard. Toriyama's work has sculpted our childhoods and has inspired us in ways that we may not even know yet. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
